While waiting for Pimax Crystal delivery I invested in new PC (Ryzen 7800x3D, RTX4090). Would be nice to test it with my trusty HP Reverb G2 before Crystal arrives (only Chineese goods know when). But I’m afraid of “contaminating” my brand new PC with WMR/G2 software, as Crystal will be my go to headset and I intend to sell G2.
Any reasons why shouldn’t I have both Reverb G2 and Crystal software installed?
Will it interfere?
Should I keep my new PC pristine and install only Pimax Crystal software when the Crystal will finally arrive in a couple of weeks?
I’ve had G2 and Pico4 and later G2 and QPro connected simultaneously, wasn’t an issue. Just got to switch the runtime in between, im guessing Pimax would be similar.
I have G2 and Crystal and no issues.
One potential caveat is the WMR for SteamVR resolution cap, just make sure that in the WMR for SteamVR settings, you check “allow resolution higher than recommended”.

Could you, please, help me in finding this option?
yes sure, you want to open the WMR for SteamVR settings app, for me it’s here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MixedRealityVRDriver\bin\win64\OpenVRSettingsUX.exe
but it might be on another drive for you.
Then Graphics tab, “Allow resolution higher than recommended”:
