Pitch sensitivity

Captains,

What settings do you fly with to get precise control over the pitch? Almost all aircraft but the JF Arrow have very high sensitivity, including Carenado planes. The yoke in the cockpit shows correct movement with my own yoke (Honeycomb Alpha) but the pitch control is too sensitive to get into level flight in a comfortable way. I’m constantly moving the controls a mm back and forth and the slightest movement will cause the aircraft to climb or descend. Only the JF Arrow seems to have correct pitch sensitivity.

As i like to have linear controls i have to change my settings to this to get the same control on the default aircraft as i get on the JF Arrow:

This seems a little extreme.

I agree, the JF Arrow is the only aircraft that feels right, I think I have -60 on pitch axis with other aircrafts, but your example seems interesting, I will try that.

Yes the ‘sensitivity’ setting in the sim is in fact a curve modifier, the naming is a bit strange. ‘extremity deadzone’ changes the sensitivity along the entire pitch axis which keeps it linear. (A non linear pitch axis is annoying when flaring for landng i think)

Have you tried to change the flight_model.cfg, inside the directory of the desired plane?

There is a line like this “elevator_effectiveness = 1”. Here I usually change this value to 0.4, due to my very sensitive joystick.

I too was frustrated with the pitch sensitivity using the Honeycomb Alpha, but these settings transformed it for me.
