Assuming you’re talking about thermal turbulence, it wasn’t a matter of being “broken”, it was a matter of not being in the sim yet. Now the sun dynamically heats the ground, which causes air to fall and rise, which causes bumps.

If you want the bouncing to stop, then set the day to night time, or set the weather to cloudy, or set the time of year to the winter. Otherwise you’ll get turbulence depending on the terrain. A slider is definitely needed though for people who want a more “laid back” less realistic experience.
