Before purchasing MSFS 2020, I would like to know if the game is playable with only typical desktop peripherals: keyboard and mouse.
Yes. As I see in configuration, Keyboard and Mouse are supported peripherals. Please check documentation for more details.
Yes it is possible. Initially when I installed the program I did a couple of flights using the mouse and keyboard only and, while possible, it certainly isn’t very enjoyable. A joystick is WAY nicer.
Highly recommend a joystick as a minimum requirement. yes it can be used without one, but it’s no where near as easy.
Yes, as far as I know you use the numpad for yoke, however, I would recommend a stick of some sort. Ever a gamepad like ps4 or xbox would be more enjoyable than keyboard and mouse.

I cannot get any mouse to work in MSFS. I have done just about everything possible. I point to the object in the cockpit, it turns blue when I place the pointer on it,click…nothing. Extremely frustrating.
