Please consider a SE 210 Caravelle as a French local legend

Would love to see this French Jetliner as a local legend for France due to the fact we don’t have a lot of early jetliners

Looks interesting, you’ve got my vote

Lovely aircraft, it has great nostalgic value like our own Hawker Siddeley Trident, BAC111, VC10, Comet 4 and Handley Page 42, to name but a few.

It’s old enough you don’t have to worry about programming an fmc so this airliner is a bit easier to fly

Reminds me of a really good 727 200 cockpit simulator I saw at the Elmira NY flight museum (not the glider museum, I missed that museum that day unfortunately)

I was doing more reading up about this jetliner and I found out that this the first jet to have rear mounted engines

I wouldn’t vote against it. Really like the Caravelle. However almost all Local Legends have been pre WW2 so far.
So I think it’s rather unlikely. Especially since it’s a pretty complex plane compared to all the previous Local Legends and Famous Flyers.

I’ve thought that the Caravelle or 707 could make good entries in the expert series. Complex enough but hopefully not as much of a lift as a later, modern airliner.

FWIW I specifically want the Caravelle and I’ve voted

You’d think there would be a lot more old jetliners developed but there’s to many modern jetliners out there (just look at how many a320 add ons are on the market and being developed) the only older jet aircraft on the market are

BAE 146
Fokker f28
MD80

Thank you OP for suggesting this plane. Now it’s made it to the “planned” status! Really looking forward to seeing it in the sim.

I can’t wait to fly this jet

Planned by whom?

I agree. I would think something like a 707 would be easier to build than a modern airliner with all the autopilot modes and navigation system.

I can’t wait for the Tu-134

It is in the 02/29 dev update:

Excellent! This has me hopeful for other old jetliners, VC10, Trident, L1011… the latter.

Wow! If a Caravelle is now planned as a French local legend (excellent idea) what could we expect from a British one? BAC1-11, Trident, VC-10?
