Please Do Not Disable Simrate In Career Mode

Title says it all…

Now this gets a vote!.. the thought of this is ridiculous.

Would completely ruin career mode for me and most IMO.

This I can get behind.

I don’t use sim rate at all in career mode, but I’m pretty much against removing options in a single player non-competitive mode just based on principle.

Complete your missions however you see fit. You’re not messing with my game, why should I dictate how you should play yours?

Agree with this topic.

Most people don’t have time to play for 3 hours flights.

Easy vote from me. If sim rate gets disabled, I probably stop playing career.

Really sad to see that this topic even needs to exist. Just because some people can’t comprehend that others play the game in a way they seem fit. If the possibility to accelerate time really gets “fixed” it makes the career way less interesting for me. I already have a job and no time to sit through hours of autopiloting.

If career wasn’t so broken (insurance cost adding up, npcs damaging aircraft, invisible obstacles, holes in ground, etc) which leads to high costs and the cost of bigger planes weren’t this expensiv you could say that speeding up the time would not be as much needed. But right now it is the only way for me to enjoy this (SINGELPLAYER)mess.

I was just reading this personally i dont think simrate will get disabled, as career mode is single player so its not hurting anyone  its your sim use it how your enjoy it, the only way it might get disabled my own views here, is if career mode went from single player to multiplayer with a ranking system

Even if that happened, you could differentiate people using sim rate and not by giving X amount of credits per minute or second spent in air so you would receive a bonus for flying 120 real minutes vs 30 minutes etc…

Zero reason to disable this. It will only hurt the sim IMO.

I have zero time to fly an 8 hour leg across the Atlantic.

Does anyone remember or even know the feeling of getting a misson, level done in a game without assistance? im refering to games as we were younger… Games on GameBoy, Sega, NES etc were hard to be successful sometimes and the feeling when you get it done by yourself without “cheating” (health, time…) was a Incredible proud feeling…

Yeah but the problem is, the sim is so broken, that your 3 hours flight is crashing after 2:30 h and you loose everything!

This guy who is asking to disable it, is going to the cellar to laugh. Everyone can decide to use it or not. Some people have not the time to spend for a 2h flight, they only want the start and landing and fly normal sim rate on interesting points.
Nobody has a disadvantage because of inc. sim-rate, the career mode is a single player. He is the perfect Simpilot, the supervisor, how we have to use the sim. Career mode is a game. He is an …

that is true.
im flying about 4-5h each day, 3-5 legs … each flight is a challenge, each flight is a challenge against the unvisible evil CTD…

Being 100% single player (which is good), there is no reason for disabling simrate.
Disabling simrate would mean end of career mode for me.

There is absolutely nothing more difficult or easier about a flight in regards to skill or procedures with or without sim rate.

sitting through a long leg with autopilot on does not garner you any “great pilot” skills in my book.

In fact quit the opposite. You have to pay close attention and it requires more skills if that is your argument to manage a flight at 4x or more than it does just sitting there.

Twice in my Beaver I’ve run out of gas on my selected tank because it happens so fast and I have to panic swap back to 1x and restart the engine while in mid flight.

sim rate x4 is kind of a mini game sometimes, especially with turbulence.

It’s a detailed plane simulator, when passing certain grades time doesn’t go faster.

Attention span and spatial awareness are desirable skills.

I think it’s a mad idea to allow x4 time in a career test.

One can practice in free flight, unconstrained.

We can leave the sim running and do gardening, cycling, working, watching a box set on TV, start a new hobby like growing orchids or 3D print some more Xmas goodies for the grandchildren.

I’m a single dad with a 40-hr/week job. If I have 1-2 hours per day I can do something I want, I don’t want to stare at 1 mission for 2 hours. Yet it’s the only way to progress in career.

Please don’t tell me how to play my game. Leave me be.

Well if you can takeoff, follow a short flight plan and land from TOD then I will respect you greatly, even if broken into 3 short parts on 3 different days.

There’s no need to be a slave to the restrictions of career mode, if your time is strictly limited.

We had 3 daughters and at times it felt like complete chaos, so I emphasise with your situation.

The only thing in my opinion that kept us patient till Asobo fix this chaos of a launch is career mode , and that is already getting worse (I get no missions for VIP now that my TBM disappeared, but thats another topic) so if they cancel simrate and force us to stare at a broken scenery for 2 hours to just afford insurance bill I’m uninstalling 2024 for now honestly. that will be a very silly move I think, they already have very frustrated and disappointed customers , don’t add to that Asobo.

I have a PPL IRL, so I think I’ll manage

Using sim-rate or not is not a skill thing though. It’s a time management thing. If someone takes off, goes to work and comes back to land he isn’t doing any less “cheating” (in the sense of time management) than someone using 4x for the same reasons. Now rewarding users higher for switching off assistances like auto mixture or auto rudder … that I can get behind, because that IS a skill thing.
I personally only use simrate in the workload idle bits… you still have to mostly babysit a time acceleration as things can go wrong easily. The A330 e.g. overshoots nav turn with anything above 4x. I don’t want to use skip as I still want to enjoy and manage the whole flight, which is actually more challenging when things are happening faster.
