Yep. Your image is exactly what we all see. It sucks!!!
My advice, fly GA, stay away from big cities. This seems to be a problem that will take a long time to be fixed, they are just starting to look into it.
…and photogrammetry off.
I landed two days ago ad KHND (just south of Las Vegas) and I saw those melted buildings in the distance and I wondered if it was my fault somehow…
On one hand I’m happy to find you the issue is not on my side, but sad on the other hand that photogrammetry is still real bad after so many updates …
Ive been flying with photogrammetry off and Im much happier now.
Same ugly photogrammetry at my side, good pc with new 3070 rtx card. After release it was great , i had this game at Gamepass and loved it , i decided to buy most pricey edition on Steam becouse of this love and then , bang! it was around 1 month after release, i launched the game and it looks different while all on ultra / max , it just uglier with melted photogrammetry and worse ground textures on the top. Hence ever clouds are more “pixelated”. Maybe it is something with Steam edition ?
Did you try emptying your cache?
Well, not while flying and to be honest, I don´t think that I expect too much, when flying to an area that the sourroundings are correctly loaded.
Same here.. at release date the photogrammetry looked much better than this:
Triangles everywhere. Height: 4000ft, the airport is 4nm. Look at the river. Everthin is on “high”, LOD at 150.
And same here, my photogrammetry is only high detailed near to the ground an in a range of less than 1nm…Flying over the landside causes better results than big cities.
You could do it while flying if you wanted to😊!
I haven’t heard of it recently, but back a month or so ago that was a recommended fix for this.
It might be worth a try.
That´s it
I don´t want to, I want to have a working platform ![]()
But so long, it´s worth to try it
cheers
Agreed with all. Buildings look like they have been bombed out or melting. Over cities they are polygons…
Very disappointed after all the hype of such realistic scenery…and it just looks like garbage.
Add to that the Cessna Longitude still only has about 700 mi range… VERY VERY disappointed.
So I dont fly around big cities, using GA… and the terrain is horrible. Im in FL and last I checked we didnt have Mesas here (ground goes up abruptly about 50 ft)…looks horrible.
So another patch is out and there’s still no progress with any of these 3 LOD issues at all ![]()
- Draw distance (LOD radius) of textures has not been increased
- Draw distance (LOD radius) of trees has not been increased
- Draw distance (LOD) of buildings has not been increased neither
- In Graphics setting theres no slider for increasing any of above
Screenshot from current game version with ultra preset and sufficient bandwith:
Why were you expecting this? It was never communicated that LOD was getting improved in this specific update.
From what they keep saying, LOD is “under investigation” ![]()

So it appears they broke it in an update? I am having these similar issues and I have no clue how to fix it. I don’t recall having this issue when the game initially released. I have tried both rolling and manual cache with no difference either way. I hope they fix this ASAP!
Looks like FSX. Moreover, even FS2004 would look a bit better than that.
I do not know in which location you, @Orishek , took that screenshot … but I do recognize the “default fallback agriculture” ground textures in the lower part of the terrain.
I have seen that texture “all over the world” and I still am not sure what cases it to get displayed … and how persistent it is / will be. There might be at least two different causes:
- (A) texture for that area is “buggy” or missing in the main database
- (B) loading the texture from the server “failed”, or took too long to complete … and so it timed out.
For example, I have seen a lot of texture mistakes on the northern coast of Brazil, west of “Sao Luis (SBSL)” … in northern Sri Lanka … etc etc.
I retried those regions on different days and got the same result. So even if (B) is a likely answer (e.g. when moving a drone camera at very very high speed at low altitude) … (A) clearly also exists in many places.
Asobo needs to be under investigation for selling us an Alpha game at full price.
