Purchased the PMDG 737-800 on Saturday and I’m enjoying it so far. Lots to learn but Simbrief link definitely reduces the workload.
Handles beautifully, sounds are amazing and everything works as expected.
Pictures are of the stunning BBJ-2 with house livery. I’m really looking forward to retro BBJ liveries!

Hi, looking to pick this up myself on Xbox X, how does it run on the X have you come across any CTDs or black screens at all?, have read a few posts about these which is why i have held off buying it. I have only had the X a week so new to the platform but have previously owned PMDG prouducts in the past on PC and they were very good, will be looking to make flights from the UK into europe and very keen to pick up the 737 800. Thanks for any info and your experience with it.
Keep in mind that you can’t use recent Airac on Xbox. The 737 is stuck in an older airac cycle.just figured I’d mention that.
Yes, I’ll echo the same caution. It’s a very comprehensive simulation, but, the PMDG planes do not use the flight plan from the World Map, and do not use the native MSFS navdata (which comes from NavBlue).
Instead they have a copy of Navigraph’s navdata from April 2022 (v2204) embedded in them. So if you flight plan (eg, Simbrief, which is also Navigraph) you have to use AIRAC cycle 2203 in Simbrief (which is open and does not require a subscription to access.
On PC, customers who subscribe to Navigraph Unlimited, can download the current AIRAC cycle for the PMDG planes in MSFS - however there is currently no way to do this on Xbox. I’ve complained loudly and often, and PMDG and Navigraph think they might have found a way to get the updates on Xbox, but it requires Microsoft’s approval, and it’s not clear if that will happen. (and yet, there is no warning about this limitation in the Marketplace - and there should be).
Also, since the sim is not able to know the flight plan of the PMDG, native ATC won’t really work. For ATC to work, you would have to put the same flight plan in the World Map, but because the Navigraph v2204 is almost 2 years out of date compared to the current cycle in MSFS, they differ enough to make it very hard to find waypoints, SIDs, STARs, and Approaches that remain the same between them.

It’s a nightmare really!! I’ve tried to select Airways all over the world and they are never found even with 2203. Depending on where you’re flying to, some flight plans can be a nightmare and take forever to manually input!
Not acceptable for a €70 “Study Level” aircraft.
PMDG have also stated there will be no new liveries added for Xbox. As for the tablet, we’ll never see it.
Waste of money in my opinion, a refund is the next option.
