Starting out with Jets and using the PMDG 737.
I have read, watched YT videos on importing the flight plan into the FMC etc, but one thing that I cannot work out, if using default FS2020 ATC for the flight, how do you get the ATC to give an IFR clearance and flight assistance.
If you ignore the built in 2020 flight plan and just use the incorporated Simbrief planner, can this then give the ATC command’s expected. All I get is VFR clearance and no IFR confirmation.
Use simbrief downloader to put the plan you created using simbrief into MSFS. Before starting the flight, on the map page, use the “more” option at the bottom of the screen, then “load from this PC” and you should find the flight.
Pick a parking spot from the drop-down list rather than clicking on a blue dot parking space (for some reason the sim likes to make changes to the flight plan otherwise).
SIDs, STARs and Approaches can then be adjusted in the drop-down menus if necessary.
You’ll find youtube videos detailing the proceedures if anything isn’t clear.
Thanks for that, I’ll try out your description.
