During flight with autopilot engaged (LNAV/VNAV or HDG), the aircraft occasionally enters a sudden uncommanded bank angle following simulator stutter or freeze.
It occurs primarily over WATER and the stuttering disappears immediately when looking away from the forward cockpit view or change to the Outside View, when i done this stabilsied him self.
I brainstormed a while und search for possible Issues and i compare many, espacially that i started experiencing issues after the SU5 update, which was released on April 30th. I did experience occasional stutters over water, but I never had any random banking to the left or right. Since SU5, the Problem begins., I’ve been noticing these unexpected bankingmovements during flight, which did not occur before.
Conditions:
- Only occurs with PMDG aircraft
- Usually during climb, cruise or descent
- Short sim stutter occurs immediately before the event
- Autopilot then briefly loses stable lateral tracking or overcorrects
System State:
- CPU/GPU not maxed
- VRAM ~70%
- GPU & CPU normal
- No abnormal control inputs detected
Troubleshooting:
- Input devices checked
- Delete the 737 and reinstalled it
- Simulator restarted and flights repeated
- Performance settings adjusted
- Issue persists

Iamjvkez, have you discussed this with our support team? Before you do so, confirm this issue exists when all other DLC and non-standard tweaks are disabled.
Note that we do not advise to re-install our software, just use the file verification option in Operation Center 3. That checks the files as they are installed and avoids any possible issue with the installation.

Sure, I’m also chatting on the side with a support Member from PMDG, but I just wanted to bring it up in the forum too in case it affects other people as well. Thanks, I’ll check it out ;D
If I could say my experience,
I have same problems but after time it shows like internal sim problem and after some restart PC attempts it was then working ok. No any sim and also no PMDG updates during that time
I have the same issue. Or very similar. Since the quality update when the autopilot engages I get some weird stutters. Then the plane starts to roll beyond bank angle limits. It’s very difficult to recover from. I am market place and then downloaded so I can install liveries. I have deleted, re downloaded and even disabled and nothing changes. When I first installed the update I got update failed and even now every time I have retried it fails to install.. I can get it to go eventually but with these problems which weren’t present before the quality update. I will try the verify files as per mathijs’ suggestion. I opened a ticket already but other than turn off assistances which were off anyway, no ideas as to what to do. I am vr, quest3 with virtual desktop, 5090, 9800x3d 64gb.. Fenix is fine. Haven’t tried the 777 but will do soon.
Yes had the same during ils approach .. already reported in the pmdg 737 section off this forum ( i will stay far away drom the pmdg forum and “support”
I had bank angle warnings and the plane kept hunting and overshooting the ils

Yeah, sounds very similar. I refresh my whole PC today, means empty out the Community Folder and install all new. Hope this fixed the Problem, when not its an Simulator/PMDG Problem.

Pls be careful to be in problematic,
hope I’m not blind, I don’t see a specific version of 737 in reported Topic, so I expect in this case 700 version. Other case is, I don’t have a new FS2024 version still, use old 2020 where some little incompatibilities can exist (my mentioned WASM crash with SHIFT+P key action). This Topic report issue happened to me under SU4 time and have not experience with this problem on actual SU5. Will report in case
Thanks. I’ll wait to hear from them for a while. Have no problems with anything else so my 737 800 is in the hanger for a bit.
Please report these issues to support. I did find a few reports like that, but all but one have been solved (as always, assignment problems).

Nothing changed in assignments … updated to latest pmdg version and bingo … before the update i never experienced this in 1500+ hours 737-800
I will not get on your forum again … so I need to figure out here … but i probably switch to the ifly max … so no bother for me

Had already done so Mathijs. It’s difficult to see that its assignments. As the plane worked fine before the quality update and no assignments have changed. Appreciate your help for these edge cases.
eeee sry, what update you mean, SU5 or PMDG?
I now know of nine people who see this and six of those turned out to be assignments. The high definition update contained nothing that could influence this, btw. Do not count out DLC that affect weather or ‘realism’, we have seen those do some very strange stuff.
