My 900 varient just loads up all controls dead and I can’t use any buttons at all. What am I doing wrong or missing?

Ground power or APU? If it starts in cold or dark then you can’t do anything until you have some sort of power source.

how do you keep the pressurization in check when climbing? I find out that I tend to overshoot quite often the 8 diff mark I usually keep the vnav all the way to cruise lvl
