Judging by all the yahoos buzzing towers in F18s at every midsize or larger commercial airport I visit, it kinda already is the Forza of the skies.
Clearly that’s not VATSIM though. You can’t expect much from the regular multiplayer servers.
I have the BAE and it is truly amazing. The iniBuilds A300 and A310 are also another level as well.
I hope its not watered down, and I also hope this show stopper is not going to be something that will be a long term fix, but who knows at this stage.
Recently took the A310 out from a very foggy LPPT to LPPD
If they manage to pull off the systems 1:1 with the X-Plane version oh man we are in for a treat!!
Correct. Personally, I love to fly on VATSIM but my home is a huge loft space and our TV is like 10’ away from my desk so it’s too noisy if my wife is home, which is most of the time. And I find that text based ATC is frustrating for both myself and the controllers. So I typically fly online with the yahoos playing air Forza.
Time for my usual reminder to the holier-than-thou crowd that you can’t tell people how to have fun. If you don’t like what they’re doing, set your multiplayer settings to OFF.
None of which has anything to do with the PMDG 737, by the way.
Lol, well fair enough. I can appreciate trying to get my fix in with a family around.
Never did I tell anyone they couldn’t play air Forza but as so often is the case here on the air Forza forums, people want to put words in peoples mouths and make all sorts of assumptions. But since I now need to clarify, I don’t really care one iota what people do with the software they bought, and yahoos flying around online don’t bother me one bit. However! It is endemic to the issue at hand, in that PMDG seem unable to finish their plane and that MSFS feels currently not much of a simulator for the squillion reasons already outlined in this thread.
Also, it’s ok if every single post in a thread isn’t very specifically about the very specific topic in the title. This is how conversations work in real life.
I don’t follow how people having fun in the sim have anything to do with pmdg’s undisclosed ‘show stopper’… Asobo haven’t stopped updating and improving the sim, for all we know a sdk improvement might be snuck into wu7.
Could you remove the “Xboxers” from your statement and make it solely about customers who don’t care.
Tired of the Xbox bashing.
The latest post sounds like they are not yet targeting the xBox market.
It sounds to me PMDG is incompetent and can no longer use their old fashioned development methods in this new sim and try to blame it on Asobo
-400 cockpits are very different from NG cockpits
Unfortunately we won´t get a -400.
The real classic Captain Sim planes (not the toy planes they released for the new sim for unknown reasons instead of giving us their REAL fantastic airplanes!) like the Boeing 767 have -300 and -400 cockpits.
Absolutely love it! That´s the Boeings I used to fly.
Maybe PMDG will give us a real 767 one day. In a very distant future.
I agree with you, there are other developers as well, and they seem to have the creativity to work around or with that what is available. It would be a bad move by Asobo to please just one developer because it suits the developer.
The old adagium still applies: if you can’t dance, don’t blame the music.
Personally I’d only be interested in getting one of the 737 variants if it had an old school type cockpit like in your picture but probably would end up flying a more modern version more often. The -700 would be good enough for me.
In the mean time I’ve just got the DC-6 a few days ago and am finding it quite fascinating so don’t mind waiting some time for PMDG / Asobo / Microsoft to sort their stuff out.
Over on the PMDG forum Mr Randazzo has posted: Stick around, we may have some good news for you later this week. This is going to be a busy week for news!
This isn’t the first show stopper in the world of s/w development and neither will it be the last. Remember, what may be show stopper for for A may not necessarily the same way for B. It may be a P1 instead of a P0 for Asobo, which is the next highest criticality level.
Robust fixes may take time and lets hope this is the case here.
Like i said … i do not want the -700
I think P0 will likely be something like ensuring trees move correctly in wind depending on source direction.
That is very promising news
