PMDG 737 Discussion (PC Version) (Part 1)

The one in the actual 737 does, not PMDG. You want to go somewhere other than intended without a secondary flight plan, like an alternate destination, get ready to start stringing the route together manually - just like the real thing.

So that means the PMDG-FMC is not realistic? That´s unfortunate :frowning: I prefer to have the FMC perfectly realistic simulated because entering a nice flight plan is part of the fun before flying.

By the way - what is this? It is labelled as “HGS” but not showing anything on the small screen:

Had a similar problem of it going very wide or even sometimes(a lot)it just stops following Lnav even although it shows still on.What did you disable in P/assistance may I ask please??

In the FCOM I have the electric pumps are turned on after the gear pin is inserted as part of the pre-start checklist, last step before the beacon which is pre-“pushback or towing procedure”? Also on in the FD2S and 737driver videos way early in the cockpit setup process. Not saying it’s not a bug, but hydraulics are on before pushback starts.

You might be right. I thought I read it goes on after engine start, but then I thought this “bug” would have been picked up sooner by PMDG if that was the case.

Thanks for clarifying.

Anyone noticing a condition in the 800 where the Master Caution cannot be extinguished? It’s happened on a few flights and not sure if there is actually something causing it or if it is a bug. All of the master caution lights are illuminated. Pressing the button to cancel it does not extinguish the light.

The devs released fictional liveries for the 700 in an update shortly after release which included BAW. I’m sure they will likely do the same.

I have simultech my replacement assistance trucks into my com folder and those pmdg 737 liveries which are downloaded from flightsim.to conflicting with it and causing the catering truck doesn’t show up …
all other airliners like 777/320/… are fine
any idea why?

Good morning pilots, I need your help please.
Can someone confirm that this was really used by United Airlines as overhead speaker in the Boeing 737?

Because I still don´t like the design of the overhead speaker that´s why I made this one, but I need a confirmation that this is really the speaker design that was in use:

Thank you very much for your help. I will upload this overhead panel texture as soon as someone can confirm that this round loudspeaker design is realistic and was really build in a 737 cockpit

In Simbrief the 800 got 160 or 184 PAX but in the Sim the 800 have 148. I try first class and single class. No different. What happen?

All of the lights? Did you accidentally turn on the lamp test?

Just download profiles from here and import them into Simbrief:

I have searched the forum and internet and cannot seem to find the answer to this issue that has popped up in the last few weeks on both the 700 & 800 variants.

When testing the flight controls for rudder movement I have full movement for left rudder but my right rudder gets stuck and will not move further than the point shown in the picture.

I have my input to rudder only and also have checked all of the maintenance pages and serviced hydraulics with no luck or change to the rudder movement.

Apologies if this has been answered already.

Having just learned the CRJ, the process was far more enjoyable with comprehensive documentation than learning the 737. Even Working Title with their CJ4 manual do a better job than PMDG. To say use the FCOM and QRH isn’t really adequate (I have and use both, but they are real world documents for real world purposes).

This is a SIM and I’m not a 737 pilot and don’t kid myself that I am or every could know a fraction of what a real commercial pilot must. The video tutorials were great, but I prefer to have a manual to read. That preferably isn’t 700 pages long. For that, I’d want to be paid!

I use them. 184 in Simbrief. I load the 800 in the sim and it is 148.

The 800 in the sim dont have payload 8.0 and 184 PAX

Hi. Quick question. I am using the default load in settings for the PMDG 737-800. I didn’t touch the fuel settings or fuel amount at all. I am using whatever fuel settings is used for the default. Same thing with passenger, cargo, and weight - I didn’t touch any of this at all, it’s all default settings.

After a 20 to 25 minute flight with the PMDG 737-800, if all the settings I used are default (as per above), approximately what landing speed should I come in at, if I use full flaps? Is it roughly 130 knots to land at full flaps? And what is the approximate stall speed?

Go the FMC before your flight and find the APPROACH page. I’m away from the sim at the moment, but I think if you press PERF INIT, then INDEX, then APPROACH you’ll be there. On the right you’ll see three approach speeds depending on your desired flap settings.

Ahh, cool, I’ll try that. Thanks!

That’s weird. With the single class configuration I can load 184 pax normally.

Great thought, but I don’t think so. it was just the yellow master caution light and the 6 or so indicators that light up in the little panel next to it like: FLT CTRL, OVHT, APU, etc..
