The 800 creates a new folder in packages. You’re probably still saving your plan inside the 700 folder.
Use simbrief downloader app and create a new save path for your 800 for both the plan and wx data.

Thx. Got it.
PMDG has split the folders into 700 and 800 now.
But simbrief has only the option for one PMDG folder for downloads. But it doesn’t matter, 700 becomes obsolete for me now
You can create a sub folder in the PMDG category in simbrief app so you can have both the 700 and 800. Click on the + sign.
That’s what you get with study level sim. What PMDG badly need is manual & docs explaining their FMC FS Actions, simulations, and customisation options. The manual for this feature is severely lacking and almost self-study with sometimes unitended consequences.
My pilot friend immediately jumped into the cold & dark state, and went ahead to do full IFR flight in it no problem. You can’t ask the same with other sims with less fidelity or real F-16 pilot in AceCombat games though. But how do I learn to ramp start F-16C Block 42 in Falcon 4.0 BMS? By watching and following a video of Greek Air Force pilot doing it.
Agree on the sound being probably one of the weak points. I mean, it is fairly realistic, but again, BSS’ FMOD custom A32X sound for XPlane11 - that’s another level.
My another issue with this amazing plane is simply the wing flex animation. I mean, how can you say this? Probably this is the first time I find something that the default plane does better than PMDG. Hopefully, things will get progressively better.
Other than that, this is PMDG, I bought it without second thought, knowing that I’ll fly it very often and enjoy it a lot.
The 700 prerelease videos made by RR explain all that. Make sure you watch those. But i guess that defeats the purpose since you’re steering away from videos…
Yep, I watched those videos.
Videos are mostly useful for showing procedural steps and how-tos. Like starting from cold & dark, setting up a holding pattern, and so on.
Manual documents with good indexing and searchable contents are more useful to document features / functions. You won’t need to go jump & skip into certain video time stamps, and be forced to review the entire 20-30 seconds of RR and his flat unethusiastic tone explaining what each menu item or customisation page does. Plus, these parts of PMDG stuff (including other cockpit interactions like cockpit lightings, sun visors, HUD) are not in the actual Boeing FCOM or shared with other realism-themed 737NG addon.
But the wing flex looks kinda cool
I cannot compare how wingflex looks in real planes because in real life I will probably never fly a 737, only Airbusses during calm weather. (And I would fly and thrust only Airbusses in RL because when sitting between 5000 liters of fuel to the left and 5000 liters of fuel to your right every technical malfunction becomes pure horror).
Yesterday I played around with weather presets and building storms and thunderstorms for screenshotting the Boeing, and the wing flex is not bad. Maybe the wing flex animation looks a bit stuttering and not fluent and smooth enough, this could be enhanced a little bit.
You mean like the one that comes with it, that covers all these details?
Look in G:\MSFS2020\Community\pmdg-aircraft-738\Documentation (or equivalent for you).
PMDG_737_MSFS_Introduction.pdf covers what you are looking for. If you prefer video, try this one:
And more this this youtuber, who is part of the PMDG team
Anyone know if there is a piece of software to help plan descent and landing stage of the Simbrief OFP? eg input waypoints/restrictions to output recommended lvl change or vs actions?
Thanks, I’ve found it, for me this manual is comprehensive enough, and leave the rest for us to explore ourselves (e.g. the cockpit object interactions, from the jumpseat to the sun visors).
Yes, I am also subscribed to Emmanuel, their technical advisor.

Indeed, this is the main issue for me. The default A320NEO has a very smooth and realistic-looking wing flex as the wings bounced during turbulence. PMDG’s wing flex just stutter up and down.
PMDG’s blended winglet is probably the best and the most realistic rendition in PC simulation yet. Gazillion of business & leisure travels in Garuda Indonesia’s, Lion Air’s, Batik Air’s, QANTAS’s, Virgin Australia’s 737NG and watching those winglets probably have bored me to death, but man, it is indeed tricky thing to model this small parts of the plane accurately, just like 737’s infamous “dimpled” oval nose. That’s why I never doubt them in this department, despite their reputation on system depth: immersion. But once we hit turbulence… oh my hahahaha watching that wing stutter, kind of immersion-breaking.
My problem with the 737 is… I always get the takeoff config warning horn😂 there is always something missing
A rough guess… do you arm the speedbrake when you take off? Don‘t arm it!
Now I have tested the Business BBJ2 version, and unfortunately it has a graphics glitch I cannot fix:
There is a white square in the upper right corner of the digital voltmeter (plus I also don´t see any ampere settings, just the AC and DC volts and what frequency the AC circuit coming from the APU has).
How many bugs am I allowed to ticket before getting thrown in front of the bus?
Well what should I say I have very sharp eyes and I noticed these things IMMEDIATELY (while whole development teams don´t seem to simply not notice such things for months).
But I guess it will be possible to ticket another one maybe two bugs before I get told to “crawl back to your PERFECT FENIX and never come back!”
By the way, cool extra tank in the BBJ2 version! There is tank test button, and it must be activated in the FMC first to have these extra tanks.
Unfortunately this tank cannot be filled seperately, no tank can be filled seperate but there are just 1/3 2/3 and completely full settings. Why isn´t there a manual refueling page?
But for pilots like me who are never flying for more than 40 minutes *ggg this thing will probably never-ever see one drop of kerosene.
This is different too in the BBJ2 version, the cabin temperature is measured in some medieval temperature unit labelled “°F” instead of Celsius and I don´t know how to switch the thermometer to Celsius:
With respect, one thing I’ve observed is that you do seem to try very, very hard to find fault with the 737, even superfluous ones that would never bother, or even be picked up by, 99.9% of the people that fly it.
Whereas the Fenix airbus largely escapes criticism. I mean if that’s your MO then fair enough. I’m not here to be critical if that’s how you like to do stuff. Just an observation.
Nothing is perfect though. Even the Fenix.
Plus I think these posts should go to the PMDG forum. I’m pretty sure they are dedicated to improve their products.
I didn’t know this
Could you imagine being their other half… Sitting next to them… going on holiday in a 737 with them…or sitting in a real 737 cockpit… or just in general…
In the FUEL page, you can type in how much fuel you want and then you can click on “total lbs/kg”. Double check if you used lbs or kg for your flightplan
You should submit a ticket to a PMDG regarding these issues so they can be properly fixed. Flooding this forum with nothing but “issues” isn’t the appropriate place to highlight these and get them noticed by PMDG.
I really hate to see this thread flooded with hundreds of zoomed-in photos of claimed texture bugs and “glaring” deficiencies, while the same person won’t spend half an hour reading through the Introduction or Tutorial PDFs to even make a real start learning how to fly the plane/
