Where did this come from?
Posted by Robert himself over on there forums
exactly this.
MSFS (not FS20) apart from the END key, which does exactly what you describe, there is the INSERT key, which is a drone (or free camera) and allows you to move freely wherever you want.
Thanks I will try pressing the INSERT key to see what happens. Have never tried.
And no new 737 screenshots or some presentation video? Almost as secretive as an Area 51 project. ![]()
So much for the big week of news, unless its about to be released tomorrow.
Was just thinking this.
I can guarantee it won’t release tomorrow. Robert stated this week that the issue they supposedly have prevents them from getting the plane into testing. Testing takes time, at least a few weeks. Who knows what issues they discover during time which will push release even further out.
I suspect we will find that nothing is being released anytime soon. Even if whatever the issue is that needed to be resolved, it would make sense to hold off until after SU8 with all of the bugs they’re squashing. Also like you said, they’ve got to do testing. So yeah, I agree that folks are reading way too much into that server update post. I am curious though what this good news is.
The 737 will be released short after the Half-Life³ launch.
Weekend has only just begun still all day today and tomorrow for any news to come
Randazzo: “Thanks to some long awaited input from Asobo, we are able to report that our progress toward Beta Testing and eventually Release has been unstuck”
I was just about to post this update, this is very good news, it appears to be nearing testing stages, I have a good feeling we don’t have to await much longer to get this in our sim!
Very positive end to the week
In the past the testing phase took months to complete. But this is good news.
Thanks to some long awaited input from Asobo, we are able to report that our progress toward Beta Testing and eventually Release has been unstuck. We are currently evaluating both a transition-to-testing date and an initial release date. I’ll have quite a bit more information on the release process right around the time we actually put the airplane into testing, as there are a host of items that have been stagnant since early October that we can finally begin to evaluate fully- and I need the intervening time in order to speak intelligently about the release process.
That’s good news. My guess is it’s released in May and 777 by September. Exciting times ahead!
I’m going to add my two cents to this. First and most importantly, I’m going to correct his post by adding the following statement that he should have included!
"TO THE COMMUNITY, THANK YOU FOR YOUR ONGOING SUPPORT AND PUSH TO HELP FORWARD OUR AGENDA. WITHOUT YOU, THIS ISSUE MAY HAVE CONTINUED TO PLAGUE THIS AIRCRAFT. WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR THE HELP GETTING THIS TO THE TOP OF THE PRIORITY LIST"
While I appreciate everything Randazzo wrote in his post, I’m disappointed that the community wasn’t given any credit for helping move this. We were the squeaky wheel here and generated the necessary buzz to get this moving. I’m also cautiously optimistic about the ongoing issues he discusses. When he comments about his “worry list” it makes me think we are almost guaranteed something else to be a “show stopper”. I’m excited like everyone else and I completely support PMDG, but lately I feel like the community has been jerked around with these hot/cold posts. So hopefully I can keep my glass half full going forward and maybe we’ll all be pleasantly surprised with some more positive information in the upcoming weeks.
You’re not wrong but one could argue that rob kinda weaponized the community to get what he wanted from Asobo. I don’t know but something is off with that whole story and by the way, we only heard Rob’s side. I found it sad how parts of this community started to go against Asobo without knowing what the problem really was.
Given that it is now fixed and unstuck it either wasn’t a big deal for Asobo to do or they just didn’t tell him they fixed it in the past 100 days? Just seems weird. We’ll probably never know…
Public channels are open to everyone. Just as Rob spoke publicly through the forums, Asobo could have done something similar and we would know both sides.
It is sadly seen as corporate suicide to give your customers a voice, or any form thanks! We have seen this play out this weekend.
This is of course until they need our money.
