PMDG 737 Discussion (PC Version) (Part 1)

I’m chocked…i tried see FPS and GPU load according FL change…and this is unreal…

I tried this ascending and descending several times…and each time happend the same …

FL190 FPS41 GPU98%
FL290 FPS47 GPU81%
FL310 FPS51 GPU86%
FL330 FPS52 GPU73%
FL350 FPS36 GPU37%
FL370 FPS33 GPU55%

I attach each image with this data…

Climbing or descending…changes start crossing FL340.. up from FL340…GPU load is changing constanly from 30% to 80%…and FPS drop to about 30-35FPS…and below FL340 GPU load is more consistent between 70% to 99% and FPS variable between 45 to 60 FPS

Good find to be honest. There was a NOTAM posted yesterday about current state of the 737 which in effect could be causing some issue here too. Although lets hope that PMDG can get a handle on things as I noticed some other AP ROLL issues and general lower performance on my routes too!

[12AUG23] URGENT NOTAM for PMDG 737 MSFS Users - PMDG Simulations

Hi all simmers,

Can we hope a sale for 26th PMDG anniversary next days ?

I’d rather want EFB but sales are always welcome. But let’s be realistic. Neither will happen.

Other than the perennial $5 sale discount, have PMDG ever had a sale? - I’ve never noticed one and I’ve been watching for a while.

They do 25% on few products  last year

Does this work for steam users? When I download the installer it cant find the path to the MS Store something something.

How did you buy the plane in the first place? Assuming you bought it from PMDG directly, you had to download and run the installer. This is exactly the same. Simply use Windows Settings to uninstall the plane. Download the installer from your PMDG account and reinstall.

To be honest its been a while, but Im assuming I downloaded the Operation Center and folder is the Community Folder.

I use the steam version of msfs so the installer I download from their website…

edit: i removed the 738 folder and then put it back in after I didnt get it to work - but now for some reason it worked when I ran the exe. It installed another Operation Center though, so now I have 2 of those. This is all confusing to me lol

You’re over-thinking things. Forget the Ops Center for now. Go to Windows Settings and find the page for installed applications. Search for “PMDG” and select the aircraft you want to uninstall. Tell Windows to uninstall. Download the PMDG installer from your Orders page on the PMDG store site. Run that installer. It will automatically check your installed Ops Center and update it if necessary. When the installer is done, the Ops Center will load and you can verify the version installed.

thats the thing, i never had them installed as apps (that can be uninstalled) afaik.
im pretty sure at least. anyways its working now… mostly.

Is it just me that finds it ridiculous that since release FENIX managed to do a total overhaul to v2 releasing block one already and block two next month with reworked systems, EFB, FBW, etc, etc… while PMDG still struggles on delivering the tablet update.. By now I expect it to be beyond perfect with the function of ordering a home delivery pizza from it.

Fenix are overhauling one aircraft.

PMDG are pushing fairly regular updates to the 600, 700, 800, & 900 (including cargo and BBJ variants), whilst developing the tablet, the 777 and the 747 simultaneously. Who knows what else? You’re not comparing like for like.

I’d also like the tablet to be released, but the aircraft is perfectly usable without it in the meantime. It can come when it’s ready and working properly.

PMDG are not the devil.

I am also surprised that PMDG can’t deliver a simple tablet that they already made for DC-6 more than a year ago

It’s not the same tablet. This is a tablet that will be something that will eventually replace DC-6 tablet as well and will be applicable to their entire future lineups of 777, 747, and whatever else they decide to do.

I’m comparing to a total model overhaul and development of two more variants releasing later this year. Yes, the aircraft is fly able at its current state but it was sold with an EFB and it’s not precisely cheap owning both -700 & -800 since day one.

What’s more disturbing is the new hotfix requires you to uninstall the entire plane. Why isn’t this being fixed so we can use the op’s Centre and not spend a whole day uninstalling planes, redoing settings, downloading, authenticating etc. X the amount of 737’s you own of which I own them all

The aircraft isn’t just flyable, it’s exactly as per all 737’s were before the relatively recent introduction of tablets. Out of the 7.5yrs I flew the actual aircraft, I had a tablet for less than 12 months.

Anyway, it’ is what it is. I agree with entirely on the price however.

How did you do takeoff and landing performance calculations back in the day without EFB?

I don’t feel like paying for a third party performance tool when I’ve already paid for one that hasn’t been delivered yet

That’s definitely a valid criticism, and one that blights all sim aircraft to be fair.

When I get chance (the Mrs is cracking the whip and making me build something!) I’ll tell you how I do it.

Until we get some actual performance number it works ok.
