PMDG 737 Discussion (PC Version) (Part 1)

Seriously? I just installed both updates. How was this not caught during the QA/QC process? If they were aware that this “update” has issues like this, why is it still available for download 12 hours later?

Nobody is perfect, but they are on it, and it will be fixed quickly.

[12AUG23] URGENT NOTAM for PMDG 737 MSFS Users

Captains,

This is an urgent NOTAM for all PMDG 737 Operators in the MSFS platform.

WHAT:
On 11AUG23, we issued a new build for all 737s to bring users up to build 3.00.0071. For reasons that are currently undetermined, certain files that are part of the update are not being properly transmitted, resulting in the loss of certain decals and details on the external model of the airplane and yield rather topical Barbie-pink patches in places that should be covered with decals.

WHEN:
This problem affects customers who run the micro-update out of the PMDG Operations Center. It does NOT affect users who install the latest build from the PMDG installer that can be downloaded through your user account at pmdg.com

HOW TO CORRECT:
At this time, we recommend that affected users uninstall the 737 from MSFS, then download the installer from their user account at pmdg.com. The installer does not exhibit this behavior if you uninstall, then reinstall the 737 as we recommend. You do not need to uninstall your liveries in order to effect this update.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
We continue to investigate why the file status on these particular files changes when being pulled through the micro-update process. We will issue a new update once we have the issue identified and resolved.

I apologize for the inconvenience. We have conducted approximately 260 micro-updates in this manner and this is the first time we have had a problem requiring a full roll-back. The good news is that you can simply grab the latest from your user account, since the problem only appears through the micro-update process. (This is why it wasn’t something seen during beta testing, as our beta team works with the full installers- which has been fool proof up to now.)

Thanks for your patience. For those who choose to wait for the corrected micro-update, we are hoping to have something early in the week. The corruption is only a visual problem and does not affect the operation of the airplane at all.

Hi,

Since there is no option in the FMC-settings on the BBJ to select digital only backup instruments, does anyone know if it’s possible to adjust some config-file instead? Not a fan of the clicking noice the analog guage makes, especially noticeable when using headphones.

Thanks

Is the 3.0.71 update also for 737-800 on pc? I checked for updates an there is still nothing

There is a bug in build 3.00.0071 regarding the textures.
Build 3.00.0071 has been removed from the ops center while the fix is put into place.

Oh, thanks for the fast info :grinning:

The workaround (until it is corrected sometime next week) is to uninstall the aircraft from the Windows Settings Apps page, download the new, updated installer from your PMDG Store orders page, then reinstall.

Unless you really need the the latest update, I would just wait for PMDG to issue a fix in Operations Center in a few days.

That seems like the most straightforward process…

Two months ago i changed GPU from AMD 5700XT to 6950XT… in ULTRA preset (and another presets) in 4K PMDG performance same way…about 30-40 FPS with GPU usage variable between 30% to 60%, and CPU AMD 5800X around 3% to 7% (only MSFS) or about 20% to 25% with another apps. Another airliners default aircraft has about 50-60 FPS…i know the complex calculations… but CPU and GPU low usage at same time?

The new update supposedly made some memory optimizations. When the updated update comes out, you might see some improvements.

I have the last update 3.0.71 … i installed before PMDG remove the microupdate, i don’t see any optimization…same condition with 3.0.70 and 3.0.71.

I’m chocked…i tried see FPS and GPU load according FL change…and this is unreal…

I tried this ascending and descending several times…and each time happend the same …

FL190 FPS41 GPU98%
FL290 FPS47 GPU81%
FL310 FPS51 GPU86%
FL330 FPS52 GPU73%
FL350 FPS36 GPU37%
FL370 FPS33 GPU55%

I attach each image with this data…

Climbing or descending…changes start crossing FL340… up from FL340…GPU load is changing constanly from 30% to 80%…and FPS drop to about 30-35FPS…and below FL340 GPU load is more consistent between 70% to 99% and FPS variable between 45 to 60 FPS

Good find to be honest. There was a NOTAM posted yesterday about current state of the 737 which in effect could be causing some issue here too. Although lets hope that PMDG can get a handle on things as I noticed some other AP ROLL issues and general lower performance on my routes too!

[12AUG23] URGENT NOTAM for PMDG 737 MSFS Users - PMDG Simulations

Hi all simmers,

Can we hope a sale for 26th PMDG anniversary next days ?

I’d rather want EFB but sales are always welcome. But let’s be realistic. Neither will happen.

Other than the perennial $5 sale discount, have PMDG ever had a sale? - I’ve never noticed one and I’ve been watching for a while.

They do 25% on few products  last year

Does this work for steam users? When I download the installer it cant find the path to the MS Store something something.
