I have read the tutorial and watched the PMDG Youtube videos plus others, but I have not seen an answer to this: when entering waypoints in page 2 of the RTE page should the destination be the last waypoint entered or is the destination not entered there?
Thanks.
One YouTube pilot said, the Boeing FMC is rather easy to handle because there is no real order for the input pages, as long as the data the FMC gets is complete.
I always prefer entering the departure and the destination airport first in the Boeing FMC (after the position init) because in this case there is already a nice simple standard route to begin with…
The destination is not entered on page 2 - but on Route page 1 ORIGIN and DESTination.
Okay, I get it. To enter it on the waypoint page whether it’s page 2,3, or 4 etc. is duplicating what is already entered on page 1. Thanks.
I would enter departure and destination first on page one. Then starting on page two, fill out the middle of the route. With departure and destination entered, selection of the takeoff runway, DP, STAR and approach is enabled on the DEP/ARR menu. Use the LEGS pages to remove any discontinuities as needed. You can then do the Perf Init. It is not actually necessary to enter the destination airport on the LEGS page. You have already done so when you selected an approach and landing runway.
Thanks. Good info.
I use the Collins one in my plane, how do you delete a waypoint in it please. TIA.
Hmm…if you are asking how to delete a WP in the FMC I will try to answer, but it’s not something I often do—maybe I can get you going. As I recall, click the Left button next to the WP you want to delete and at the bottom in the scratch pad it will show Erase. Click that. If you do as I said above and Erase does not show up, try clicking the Right button next to the WP and see if that does it. If not, then I guess try different things and keep any eye on the scratch pad for Erase.
Sorry I can’t be more certain. Good luck.
Press the left softkey for the waypoint after the one you want to delete. This copies the waypoint to the scratchpad.
Press the left softkey for the waypoint you want to delete. This removes it from the flightplan.
Press “EXEC” to commit the change.
So just like clearing a discontinuity. Why could I not figure that out, wow, old brain cells are doing number on me. Thank you so much, I will try that right now. Appreciate this info.
Thanks Taschi578, that’s the way.
