Hello all,
I purchased the Microsoft flight simulator PMDG 737-900 and was interested in also getting the -800. I real PMDG do cross pricing but is this not available in the MSFS marketplace. If not, has anyone had any luck in a different way like contacting PMDG? I really want the -800 but I simply can not be paying for a whole new aircraft that’s still of the same type*
PMDG 737-600, 737-700, 737-800 and 737-900 are different aircraft models - separate products.
Therefore, if you want one of them you will need to make a purchase. From time to time, PMDG offers discounts.
Feel free to contact their customer support, it’s linked on their web site. But if you look at their shop on their own web page, there is no kind of base package that you can extend with additional models. You pay the full price for each model as outlined in the shop (there are different prices for different models).
Ah yes. I thought this was the case. The cockpit models are pretty much identical that is why I thought they may offer something of such. They are never in sale on the marketplace either which is a shame (from the time I’ve been playing MSFS)
I purchase directly from the aircraft manufacturer’s stores, such as PMDG.

OP’s profile has Xbox as platform so Marketplace would be the only option in this case.

OP also selected ms-store. If this was a mistake, he should remove ms-store tag.
The 700 and 800 WERE on sale in the marketplace. I can’t remember exactly when but, it was this summer and they were $50 Vs $70.
There is no way we can get this right, when we used base product and lower cost additions, people complained they had to buy an aircraft they did not want, to get the one they wanted.
Our solution to this was to cut it all into separate products, but sell them all at a lower price. For sure this will not sit well with everybody but it has the advantage of being clear and easy to understand.
We are not big fans of sales actions. A product has a price and when you can offer it at a lower price for a period, it just means you might have lowered the standard price. Nobody wins in a race to the lowest price.

I absolutely get this, neither was I complaining. At the end of the day you are paying for quality. For me on Xbox the problem is the lack of liveries for the -900 that others on PC may be able to get on freeware or externally
Very simple solution
The FIRST 737 version someone buys is €70 … all following are € 20 each.
Should not matter if the first version is the -600 and 2nd the -900 ( or other way around )
Easily aranged since people buy on a PMDG account and PMDG can therefore keep track on versions bought and act and charge accordingly!!!
If you WANT … you can do …
Technically very easy in 2024 you know.
BUT It will milk less cash
.
Stop pretending you do this for the “interest of the customer “
As far as I am aware, the Marketplace does not allow such a system. Of course, we would also have to increase the price of the ‘first’ buy. Otherwise, we would make a lot less money. Your idea about the current profitability of MSFS DLC does not seem to be based on any knowledge.
If you believe all our releases in the last four years are a money grab, I suggest you do not buy them.

It was just an example .. can be any amount you want … if there is a will there is a way.
Yes, but think about it, many PMDG customers are happy with just one model, and exactly these people would have to pay more. It can’t be ‘any’ amount as pricing is super important in this market. Again, I doubt you have any experience with this; without tooting my own horn; I have 25+ years of experience, and PMDG has the same. While you might not like the idea, it has served us well for all the three product lines we have for MSFS.
We don’t do these things without discussions and market research and are very satisfied with the current state.
Yes you are the greatest Mathijs …
