Great update from PMDG I think.
It looks like ball is really on MS/Asobo side.
We will see when they fix it and return DC-6 to marketplace.
I think what bothers me still is there is no ETA. I get it things are complicated, but for a product released as broken as this was I’m hoping this is ASAP (as in days not weeks). I have my doubts and won’t be getting my hopes up that a quick patch is pushed through by MS/Asobo. But once again the only information we’ve received in the past week is coming from PMDG. I’m not sure anyone has a real clue on how long this will take without comment from MS who remain missing in action. Thank god for Rob or we’d be completely in the dark (yep looking at you MS/Asobo comms team).
I hope they will not wait til the next SU.
It’s frustrating that I’ve got two beautiful DC6s in my hanger and all I can do is look at them because of this failure. Personally the back and forth finger pointing between third party devs and Asobo is getting old. As an end user who has spent probably close to $1,000 USD on add ons from the market place, it’s tiresome to constantly receive products that either only work half way or not at all. I’m about fed up with MSFS 2020 all together at this point. I don’t care who is at fault, I just want a working game and working add ons.
Maybe this is where PMDG now being an “official” partner will speed up the process? Again that’s all we can hope for I suppose.
Hopefully they can fix it soon. Seems like Asobo/PMDG are on this. Once they succeed in publishing the (working) DC-6 for XBox, it will be a significant milestone for MSFS.
Agree - hopefully that milestone and the $$$ available once it’s fixed is motivation enough to push this through quickly.
It’s weird.it sounds like they think people who have bought it can’t use it right now. I mean I know it’s broken but we still own it and can still let the AI take off in it then take back control in a limited way etc.
They already have your money. Fix will have to wait in line.
i can take off and land it and have been flying since it came out
just can’t cold and dark or serious simming

Just yesterday I brought a new car only $15,000 USD. Sadly I couldn’t drive it off the lot. Seems the Dealer and Manufacturer are pointing fingers at each other. The Manufacturer says the car was tested and works fine. They, the Manufacturer, says the Dealer has some sort of delivery problem that they are working on. They, the Manufacture, has no time line as to when the delivery problem will be solved. In the mean while the Manufacture has sent me some ownership manuals to read. The Dealer has my money and has said nothing to me.
I have taking a few images of the car. It sure looks nice. Guess I’ll just study the paperwork and be happy.

An entertaining analogy, except they’re not pointing fingers at each other. They’ve both said it’s an unforseen issue with the Xbox testing environment.
I’m curious, what is your impression on the performance (fps, stutter, etc.) compared to a default aircraft of comparable size?
it was working fine with no problems
it not really like any default aircraft
it is not working now in the beta lol
It was working fine with no problems… on the xbox? Surely the instruments are frozen and you can’t interact with the controls, right? And the engine dies on the runway if you start there and you don’t throttle up immediately? And something is wrong so the aircraft doesn’t get enough power to take off anyway?
I just flew it again on my other XBOX and it works for now.
I was able to take off and fly around and land. Landing gear works too. GPS works.
It probably reminds of JU-52.
It does not work on my Beta XBOX though.
I have been flying it from Day 1.
Just can’t do any serious simming with it.
No, the knobs and switches inside do not work.
I think “works” is a little optimistic. Yes the GPS works when you spawn on a runway, and you can use the throttle, flaps and landing gear. But the AFE isn’t working and almost all of the dials, switches, and instruments are clearly broken.
Would love to know if you have had a different experience though. I’ve flown it a little in it’s current state but I wouldn’t call it working.
It’s a bit disappointing that the current beta flight does not include a fix for this issue. That could mean that a fix for this may still be some time away…
