Just curious if the PMDG DC-6 liveries are going to be released for sale any time soon, since they were not able to be released with the actual plane as everyone had hoped for us XBOXers. Hopefully it won’t take as long as it’s taken for the A310 BravoAirspace liveries to be release (its been months since the flagship A310 study level plane came out and we’re still waiting for the BravoAirspace liveries to be approved). It’s also weird that XBOXers have to pay for the liveries as an add-on. Post em up for free like the other free add-ons that are in the marketplace. They won’t work on anything unless you own the plane anyway. I guess there’s legal behind the scenes stuff going on.

And now I’ve read the PMDG 737 its being held up for XBOX because of liveries? UGH hope not. Still no word on DC-6 liveries coming sooner than 3 months? MS/Asobo come on. It’s bad enough we have to look at generic plane liveries at airports, and those huge horrible blue looking taxi guiding arrows. (surely there’s a more elegant way to show those). Lets get those liveries approved.
If I have to pay extra for the liveries that were included when the DC-6 was first released, then PMDG will be in big trouble! I already paid €60! I advise them not to risk their good reputation!

You can thank MS for charging for the liveries. From what I read it’s not PMDG that wants to charge. It’s some legal thing or something. But yeah, hold up a great plane and take weeks/months to review/approve liveries. Not like anyone knew the PMDG planes were coming to XBOX over the past year! ha! You’d think MS would have already been all over the approval process to get these items to market. It’s easy to armchair direct, but uh yeah.
Well yes and no, the Marketplace doesn’t allow for a “free” item so PMDG have said they will charge the lowest possible price for the livery pack to be on the Marketplace however they could easily add a couple of liveries to the base pack of the DC-6 but they don’t want to do this as PC players already have access liveries via PMDG but that doesn’t help Xbox players. For me, if they cannot add a livery pack for free then they should add to the base pack rather than charge anything, however little.

Market place doesn’t allow free stuff. I’ve heard them say that, but uh why the heck not? And how does this get posted for free? Vessels:Core library (free) 1.15.0

Both free and only work with their products. PDMG liveries would only work on their planes, so why can’t they do something like that? I’m sure I’m not understanding all the tech/legal mambo jumbo. But come on MS, make it happen in less than 3 months.

When it was first on the Marketplace for Xbox it had liveries.

It’s PMDG who first released the DC-6 with liveries for PC in the marketplace, as it is with all other aircraft.
Then they decided they want to force PC users to install their Operation Center software to install their liveries and freeware liveries. No other developer does this.
This is the reason why also on Xbox the DC-6 comes without liveries. They haven’t figured out how to make different Xbox and PC versions for the marketplace. So also the XBox version has no liveries, because this way PMDG can contiunue to force PC users to install their software even when buying aircraft in the marketplace.
They could just include liveries in the airctaft package like all other developers. They did so in the past even in the marketplace.
It’s their choice to not do so but instead charge extra for liveries on Xbox.

SO it kinda sounds like the 737 is being held up for the XBOX because they can’t post up free liveries since MS doesnt allow free stuff to be posted (for whatever reason). I’m fine waiting actually, because I’ve got plenty of planes to fly (too many really). But it just seems so weird that a great product is being held up because of this. Turn the “free” section back on and problem solved!

I read that thread when it came out. It doesn’t change the fact when the product was originally on Xbox it did have the liveries included in the package. It also says and I quote, “Xbox users can have access to the broad range of liveries without hassle or delay.” Well that hasn’t worked because there are still no liveries available at the moment if you’re on Xbox.

Good grief! Over a month since the plane was released on XBOX and no word from MS when the DC6 liveries are going to be released for XBOX (even though they were available over a year ago when the DC6 faceplanted on the XBOX).
