What changed to fix the problems? I have the same. Thanks.
And how did you re- install?

Did as short flight with the DC-6 an hour ago. Everything worked fine from start to finish. The air noise in the cockpit felt a bit louder compared to the engines, but that might be my imagination.
In case anyone here is wondering why they arenât seeing the SU5 performance gains when flying the DC-6, itâs because of an issue specific to this aircraft. I gather PMDG are looking into it but donât know what the problem is yet.
Thanks a lot. Iâll try as described.
If youâre in for experimenting, step 3 might be enough.
I didnât try that. I didnât feel like more testing. But theoretically thatâs the folder where the âstateâ of the airplane gets stored. So if itâs messed up, that alone might do it.
I was testing the DC-6 and get 40% more fps than I had pre SU5 (KLAX Rwy 7L, Ultra 4K, Render Scale 80, Clear Skies). I had 29 and now have 41. So Iâm well above 30 fps in any scenario with the DC-6 after SU5.
Still, thinking about the flaws and CTDs after SU5 Iâd rather go back to 29 fps.
Thanks so much. Did a te-install of 2.0.33 and much improved. However, the gear still stay down after the AFE does his thing. No more problems with fuel burn or flaps though, but the need to re-install is still really weird.
Thanks again for your assistance.
Youâre welcome.
Yes, I saw the gear staying down too. Iâm also not sure if all these weird problems wonât return. I thought I caused it myself by crashing the plane. But if you had the same weirdness⊠it might come back.
My problems were exactly as you described them. I doubt it was related to a crash.
Well, thatâs not promising then. If it returns I will investigate if thereâs a quicker way to get back to normal.
But I also expect PMDG to come with more updates. They hardly had time to test it properly.
Mine got weird - everything seems to work after the PMDG update and (re-install) but the flaps donât animate any longer.
same here, and after some quick flap change from 0 to 50, iâve got CTD..
Just tried to fly⊠Had to click on GNS530 volume knob during PreFlight so it would stop spinning and AFE could complete checks. Flaps didnât work. Flipped hydraulic bypass on and off. Still doesnât work. Not externally, not on the flaps indicator. Just did a fresh reinstall of the aircraft and the update, maybe this will fix it. I have had it with this Sim Update. Two good airliners in the sim and both are hosed right now.
seems beacons lights and other lights other than landing lights stopped working
I took the unprecedented step of removing all MSFS-related software from the computer, included MSFS itself. I then cleaned the registry. I ran DDU and did a fresh installation of my display driver (same one, just âcleanâ to eliminate that as an issue.) I did this Monday evening, and spent Tuesday night re-installing MSFS, Navigraph, and select payware aircraft.
The DC-6 is fully functional for me - as far as I can tell - except for no nav lights or beacon. Landing lights work. I donât usually use the GNS530, but I enabled it just to see if it worked correctly. No issues with it, but I do not use it for much. I was flying at night so could not check the external animations of either flaps or gear, but all seemed to work as I have come to expect. I do not use the AFE.
The lack of âtool tipsâ in the UI for SU5 is a disappointment. Iâd gotten used to setting my props at â62%â or â68%â but I guess thatâs a âfirst worldâ sort of issue, right? The bigger deal for me is that the camera mapping for ânormal viewâ has changed. Custom views are all intact however, so thatâs a plus. Iâll have to figure out why the normal âpilotâsâ view has changed, and attempt to set it up as before.
An aside: the JF Arrows and the Carenado Mooney are not working. The Mooney wonât even fly (no fuel = no flying.) As far as I can tell there are no issues with the AH C140, which is a good thing.
Globally the trim command has become hyper sensitive. Iâve found this to be the case on every aircraft Iâve flown so far since SU5. (The C172 âSteam Gaugeâ has this issue.)
It must be very discouraging for publishers to work countless hours to offer us nice aircraft models, only to have them broken every few weeks. Even the developers that had pre-release access to SU5 said the public version of the update was not like the version(s) they were given to test prior to release. One mentioned âundocumented changesâ while another said the performance gains - apparently substantial in pre-release - were âlukewarmâ in the public version.
Iâll admit disappointment. I spent two evenings doing everything I could on my end to make this update go right. I guess Iâve been rewarded at least a bit: FPS has increased overall on my system. But the changes made to the user interface and the broken airplanes are not worth it, at least for me.
Back to reading for a few weeks while things get sorted out, and putting around in the C140. Iâll try a longer flight in the DC-6 in the next few days.
DC-6 works fine now after a fresh reinstall and update. Flaps work for me now.
On the other hand, I was worried because DC-6 would be stuck on infinite loading into Moscow Vnukovo. Turns out Drzwiecki Designsâ Moscow pack (which includes that airport) is not working after the update. Same goes for a lot of other scenery. If anyone has infinite flight loading issues, make sure to disable scenery in that area. A lot of scenery is broken too, not just aircraft. After trying twice with infinite load, I removed DDâs Moscow and all went well.
Has anyone else lost control of propeller RPM? My prop lever does absolutely nothing. I even resorted to using the AFE to set cruise power, and watched as he slowly brought the lever all the way back to idle, with no change to RPM.
