PMDG from walk around to accessing cockpit

msfs-2024

I’ve managed to boot up the pmdg 738 NG.

I am doing the walk-around but there are no circles to click on to enter the door nearest to the cockpit like in the default ac.

  1. Any idea how to get into the plane?

  2. Do we always have to start from a walk-around in free mode or is there a setting to take you straight to the cockpit at the start?.

Thanks

PMDG will not have legacy 2024 features as long as there is no update. Try Shift+C to get in.

Thanks for that. It has let me in.

I see what you mean. :grimacing:

How is the PMDG aircraft in the sim so far? I’ve dared not to try them yet.

No functions - not able to use it at all.

We are stuck with the default aircraft for now.

I’m yet to do a short hop in the 738 max.

I thought you were able to get in? The walkaround is not necessary, but were you not able to fly the PMDG?

Nope. Everything locked. Pfd lit up and FMC lit up. Nothing else selectable and yoke tilted to the left not re-acting at all.

It was similar to the old licensing issues where you could see everything but it wouldn’t let you interact with anything.

I think we should be prepared for PMDG, Fenix etc to take some time to port across. I’m switching between the sims, but to be honest, I’ve become addicted to the Inibuilds A330. Not tried the Max yet though.

Well, I attempted my first flight in the default max from EGCC to EGKK.

Not sure if it’s just an XBOX issue but the PFD is way too bright, even after turning the brightness down on the cockpit brightness controls, it was still overbright and very glary looking. Infact the whole cockpit dash was glarey.

On 2 occasions I have managed to follow some kind of SID and before starting the approach, i’ve lost ALL screens inside the cockpit completely - cockpit controls background light still illuminated, but all displays gone blank (fmc, pfd et al). Then all of a sudden the auto pitch trim started going wild up and down repeatedly. If I manually turn AP offn the auto pitch trim stops but still left with no displays at all. Strange.

I managed to start the engines but i cannot bind any of my saitek controls , so im stumped trying to fly the PMDG 737 in msfs2024

Plus i can barely see the FMC , everything is too bright in the sim, anyone know how to adjust the brightness?

I tried the PMDG 738. Couldn’t get the FMC to come on and within a minute or two, everything froze up.

The defacto Inbuilds are pretty ■■■■■■ to be honest. Robert at PMDG said the 737 may not port over for quite some time. Never mind access to the 777

Everything works perfectly, apart from a reduction in the glasscockpit lighting. Lorby AAO also works as well as Steamdeck profiles…perfect wonderful in 2024. Patience until updated

Same for me. All of the flight controls had to be inverted to change them to the correct input. Thurst and Yoke (when reversed in setting seemed to have worked ok).

Everything in the 738 max was bright for me too, even after turning the brightness to the lowest setting on the panel brightness controls.

I’ve not tried a flight since - might try again and see if there has been improvement.

Brightness issue seems to have been relatively solved.

I’m still getting all of my cockpit screens dying after about 30 minutes though, right before approach on a regional flight on the 738 max.

Other than that, it is performing slightly better. Far from ‘normal’ or ‘perfect’ though.
