PMDG VR cockpit resolution

Quest 3, Connected USB-C

I’m have a fairly good computer and it run fine it VR medium-high settings. With PMDG 738, the cockpit resolution from my point of view is never totally clear. The portion in green (on the picture) is not perfect but it is clear enough. The portion in red is always blurry, even if I crank up the rendering resolution a lot.

If I move my hear close to the FMC, then all the button are super clear.

Are you able to get a clear cockpit with PMDG products?

You say you have cranked up the render resolution but 2080x2244 is not very high at all, especially if you are using DLSS. If your video card can handle it, try a render resolution closer to 3000x3000.

Effectively, it was not high enough. I thought that it was enough since quest 3 display resolution per eye is 2064x2208

I now realize that it improve at higher resolution.

AFAIK, all VR headset lenses introduce distortion that is overcome by super-sampling, which means rendering at a resolution that exceeds the actual pixel count of the display behind the lens.

I think for quest3 you need to push it to 3072x3216, that’s about 1:1. Virtual Desktop uses this in Godlike mode…
