While I feel the same, you may use the freeware addon SHIFT+Z stats (https://flightsim.to/addon/16358/shift-z-stats), where you can display wind speed and direction at the current aircraft posistion. It does work in FS2024.
Itâs not meant to be fair and itâs not meant to be feature complete - I understand the intent is to serve essentially as a demo to entice you to purchase the entire product. Honestly, Iâm shocked the freeware version exists at all.
This addon would have died years ago without the free one, think of all those planes it is currently installed in if it was a payware from the outset they wouldnât be there
the TDS GTNXi has no freeware component, yet itâs included on every aircraft the PMS on is as far as I can tell, The TDS seems to survive.
The Turbo Porter by FSG only supports PMS. It actually needs that to support the 530. I hacked in the TDS once but it breaks integration with HSI, and other things.
PMS Team I bought the one in MP. How can I convert to Premium ?? Is simple go the PMS den and purchase code and type in?? The Stream ability of 2024 is an advantage to my overall system setup, maint and health.
Yes, purchase the premium version on our PMS50 site and enter the key as described in our manual.

This wasnât one of the things that was there from the outset though. Thereâs no need to add new things to the demo version. The demo version is obviously working just fine for itâs intended purpose already. Your friend can try it on Thursdays if I recall. And to my mind itâs not a necessity at all for normal flying. Itâs a neat extra feature for paying customers. Itâs those things you want that entice you to purchase. If this is that thing, fine. If your friend canât buy it, why not buy it for them? I got it for the autopilot feature. To me thatâs indispensable. Everyone has their own favorite thing I imagine.
The wind speed and direction on ground has been there from the beginning on the freeware version my friend cannot afford to be a premium member money sadly isnt flush for a lot of us.
i took a punt on the payware/premium as yes autopilot interface for me plus creating waypoints on the map whether i continue with premium im not sure as ive had to cut my hours down due to mental health problems, life doesnât always want to play fair
Just as an Idea for your friend. He should just not make any updates to the free Version anymore and most likely he will keep the wind speed as it is right now. No need to worry about.
If he wants something ânewâ coming with a potential update he needs to make the trade off what is more important for him.
Just as a reminder, it was/is free at the time. It never states that it comes free with a lifetime update service.
