I get that, but the amount is irrelevant to me. If I am able to “purchase” a lifetime subscription to this for even $100, that would be better than paying even $3/month. Money is not really an object here, but I DO like to keep track of all my subscriptions. Keep in mind, I already have OneDrive, iCloud, Apple Music, as well as a couple of streaming TV channels… I am fine with Navigraph. That’s ONE subscription for flight simulation and it’s justified because the data changes every month. But the last thing I want is yet ANOTHER subscription to keep track of. It’s about organizing expenses and not having so many recurring monthly charges that I can’t remember right off the top of my head. I have a few now, but if you give me 30 seconds, I can recall them ALL. I do NOT want to get to the point where I cannot recall them, that’s all.
So, if it IS a subscription model, I would even be fine if an OPTION existed to purchase a lifetime one for whatever amount the author deems necessary. For those that are fine with paying a small amount every month, they can have that too… But for me, it’s just not a viable choice for the features I am getting with this particular subscription.
Another Model that the developer might consider is “Rent to own”.
So much a year, for so many year, after which, you get to Own the right to us the product without further payment.
There is already a list of MSFS products, that I wish I could have rented, for a fraction of their purchase price, and would now be returned as “unfit for service”.
As for the GTN750, you still get to use the GTN750 for FREE – but you have the “option” to pay for a set of “additional” features if you want them.
Agreed – with maybe a discount for full payment up front.
Starting to get a little complex with the payments & subscription model, but nothing a E-Commerce site cannot handle.
If I was a developer, I would like to get as much money up front, as soon as possible, which would make economic sense to me – but each to their own.
MSFS 2020 may one day go the same way as MS Flight, or another developer might come out with a competing GPS system. I would therefore favor the attitude. “Get it while you can”.
Did you enable it using the EFB? First of all, did you download all the updated versions of the Carenado planes that were released today from your Content Manager?
One concern for me would be how this subscription will work. PayPal, credit card? I’d be more concerned about having another source in of potential fraud, which I’m less concerned about with a larger company.
No problems running FS2020 in VR without this mod, but adding this (including linking it to METAR and Navigraph account) I see a huge perfs decrease, too low fps with my settings.
Of course I have WT G3000 mod too and no probs with this.
Is this “normal” or should I maybe check other things around?
Do you have the same issue in non-VR mode and/or with another airplane?

The GTN code is optimized to save FPS so there should not be an issue here.
The resources needed depend on the page you are on. The page that takes more resources is the map page.
You can slow down the page updates by changing the speed option in system/setup page.
I heard comments about subscription/lifetime.
You will have the choice between both models with a possible upgrade from subscription to lifetime.
The prices will be fixed after the next sim update.
have the premium version of the 750 installed which has been working well - but just found today (in the piper arrow) when I select the 750 avionics it comes up with a black screen and I can’t seem to power it on? (how can I try and power it up and get it running)
Note: I then tried it in the cessna 172 and the flight started with 750 already on)
