The black bar is normal and will never change. The GTN has a given aspect ratio that must be preserved. The black bar is also used by some Mods to display an extended engine page menu.
The washed aspect is a Carenado issue. Ask them.

Iā€™m not at home to test this but does the GTN pop out, with the intent of dropping it on to a Realsim Gear 750 panel? For when Asobo sort out the performance degradation issues.

Just disable airspace messaging until Asobo fix the issue with airspaces.

The GTN version is ready for the next update. Asobo works now with a set of beta testers so we can test the update before it is released. A very nice thing.

This bug will not not be fixed in the sim update 4. So disable airspace messages until Asobo fix it.

Strawman. I didnā€™t say anything about ā€œhating all subscriptionsā€. I have a navigraph subscription. Jepp charts are updated every 28 days. A subscription makes sense. I have a GTN 750 in my (real) airplane. I have a chart subscription and an updates subscription for that. Again, it makes sense. I have a ForeFlight subscription with a Jepp chart subscription because I donā€™t want to go hunting for information about the alternate minimums in the clouds when the approach lights are out. Makes sense. My life could depend on it.

Letā€™s say the subscription to this is $5 a month. Reasonable, no? Well what if I have it for even just 3 years? Thatā€™s $180. Am I going to pay $180 for the GTN in MSFS? Ask yourself what the only reasonable answer to that question is.

The subscription will be year based and largely less than 5$/month.
Anyway, you will have the choice between subscription and lifetime.

172 and Grand Caravan are the 2 I was using with GTN and on which I noticed the huge fps drop with the mod.
Interesting to know it is FPS optimized and itā€™s very good.

Iā€™ll try installing it back again and slowing down page update settingā€¦

After todayā€™s update Iā€™ve tried to switch to GTN750 on Carenadoā€™s piper, but the map seems to freeze. Fearing thereā€™s a conflict Iā€™ve emptied the community folder leaving only gtn750 mod but it didnā€™t solve the problem. Iā€™m a sim update 4 beta tester btw.

My mistake, itā€™s arrow iii. And I thought the problem he mentioned is already solved by todayā€™s update.

So for arrow iii and seneca, you can only switch to gtn750 after the plane leaves the ground, is that correct?

If you are a beta tester of the sim update 4, this is fixed in v 1.16.2.0
If you are not using the beta sim4 you can switch when you want but read that:

Looks like light refracting from the glass surface of the GTN panel. Perhaps JF is not modeling the glass on their Arrow?
