Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is visually stunning and technically impressive.
The lighting, weather, flight model, and overall immersion are excellent.
However, there is one important feature missing that significantly affects my enjoyment of the simulator:
the absence of city and town name labels visible during flight, a feature that was available in MSFS 2020.
In MSFS 2020, VFR exploration was one of the most enjoyable activities for me.
Flying at low altitude, recognizing real-world geography, and reading the names of cities and small towns directly in the world made exploration intuitive, educational, and fun.
In MSFS 2024, these names are visible on the world map before departure, but once flying, they completely disappear, even with all assistance and POI options enabled.
This makes VFR exploration less accessible and removes a feature that helped many users feel connected to the world below.
I understand the desire for a clean and realistic interface, but removing this option feels like a regression compared to MSFS 2020.
Reintroducing city and town name labels as an optional toggle (as they were before) would greatly improve usability and restore a key part of the VFR experience.
The simulator is already excellent.
Bringing back this feature would make it even better.
