I’m seeing an intermittent visual issue where the POI markers appear to ‘float’ and do so out of sync with the terrain. This occurs on both the World Map before flying and during flight. From the world map, dragging the mouse pans the map. The POI airports and location names move also, but not at the same rate as the ground.
In flight is a similar but a little different.
- The top 1cm of screen is torn with the same visual effect as no v-sync.
- The POI markers for airports and fauna (and locations, but I have them turned off) float, so when you pan your view, they do not stay geographically fixed.
This occurs intermittently, approximately 25% of the time.
Restarting the game seems to fix it at least for a while during play.
It sometimes occurs soon after starting, other times after a while.
I don’t recall exactly when this started happening, but I think it was ‘weeks or a couple months ago’, perhaps when last sim version, perhaps related to nVidia drivers.
The issue doesn’t prevent flight, but looks ugly, particularly the top of screen tearing effect.
Steam purchased. Not using developer mode or custom settings.
nVidia Geforce 2080 super, gsync enabled
Intel i9, 32GB RAM
No screenshots or video at this time.
I’d like to hear if anyone else has seen the same issue. I could not find it when searching this forum or googling. This may help us isolate the issue.
Edit: Adding screenshot. Top of screen shows tear (not vsync) and POI floats, but can’t easily be seen in static image.
