It’s bad when some other games I play on Xbox have a similar closed system for mods/add-ons let’s be real that’s all they are is mods but they have there workshops updated as soon as the dev gives them the update normally within a couple of hours have watched annoucements on discord then had to update in game to that version number within an hour at times and that’s with people that don’t have to be approved modders for that game as well
And worse part is they are normally smaller companies or even start ups
Just confusing how a AAA developer can’t do something as well as a basically new team starting out that’s smaller and has less funding
Ok now I’m even more confused by this as the add-ons I know have been updated are updated in the 2020 Marketplace (had to re-download 2020 to check) yet in the 2024 marketplace they are a few versions out for example
Indiafoxtecho F-35 so a verified 2024 marketplace addon that you can buy is 1.3.8
While same addon on the 2020 marketplace is 1.4.0 or something but it’s a later version
So why not update the 2024 versions as they will be getting the comparability updates for them helping with other issues and bugs and ctds
This one really doesn’t make any sense to me the more I dive into it
Well I guess the only party who could bring light to this decided to be silent about. The only update we get in the marketing ahh sorry development update on a weekly basis is regarding the FS2020 backlog. Nothing regarding FS2024 backlog.
I guess the numbers do not look very good. Ether in terms of volume or the volume they get released on a weekly basis. Ether way I guess they fear the feedback regarding the performance and decided to stay quiet.
Just look at the numbers shown regarding updates/new releases for the past week before the marketing ahh development update
FS2020 PC only
36 new releases
24 Updates
Total: 60
FS2024 PC only
22 new releases
Total: 22
3 Times the volume for FS2020 than FS2024 despite the fact that based on MS the majority of the playerbase is in FS2024.
Let’s take as an example the COWS DA-42 (brilliant job by that team). The in sim version is still 1.1.4. According to their discord they released 1.1.5 January 11th and 1.1.7 on March 2nd. They have approved their aircraft in 2024 so it shows “creator approved” but I still show 1.1.4 in my library.
WHERE are the new versions?? They have made some fantastic updates on that we are blocked on for what reason exactly?
Obviously MS is releasing 3rd party asset versions which have been delivered for approval up to a certain fixed date. Now they are going through that list and if meanwhile a 3rd party dev releaes a new verison, this particular version will not be considered in the ongoing internal approval/release process. This is pretty normal but still very frustrating for us customers. But of course I am only guessing.
I’ve been asking MS this question since January 16.
I was basically told by a CM that they aren’t allowed to tell us what is going on.
Make of that what you will.
I’ve been trying to learn what I can via the developers themselves.
You can read about it via some posts I made starting about here, please be aware that much of this is conjecture on my part, but then all we have is conjecture when the people who own the Marketplace won’t talk to us:
Where is the updated version for msfs 2024 of the Spitfire Mk IX from flyingiron ?
In fact, it seems to me that the only interest of the marketplace is to buy only what you can’t find elsewhere. For me, it’s clear, I would always buy elsewhere if it’s possible !
Yea Ive been in talks with addon developers too and it’s all on Microsoft why the updates haven’t been pushed worse part is same addon in 2020 is updated I have both Sims installed so I can check things like this
Is this where I complain about not yet having the Aerosoft CRJ Version 2 in my library?
If I would have bought it anywhere else I would be flying it right now.
Does anyone at Microsoft/Asobo understand they are just training us to never buy again from the Marketplace? It’s inexcusable.
Rant over…for now.
Search is a bit funky with the latest beta build but it’s better. For example, when I first loaded the sim today, when I typed las it showed lsa in the search bar.
The second time I loaded the sim search worked properly.
Yea Xbox is why I came here to complain they aren’t up to date knowing that the updates are for compadability with the 2024 SDK
The addon developers have been great with communication get back to the community within a couple of hours normally or will respond to an individual message to them
So those developers 10/10 doing it right
Microsoft not communicating with the community and there’s now a bunch of us annoyed
I got fustrated and annoyed enough to join the forum to voice it
Is there anybody from crew that can give us an update on when the Inibuild a350 will be released on marketplace for Xbox fliers? It says on Inibuilds homepage that it will be available for xbox fliers a bit later than for pc users.
Only for the extremely impatient. I prefer the market as I want MS to get some money (if they get none, they’d stop supporting the sim) and I like everything in one place. I did get the Spitfire outside as, at the time, guns weren’t allowed in the market and I’m not going to fly a Spitfire without what looks like guns
