Very frustrating experience with PS5 MSFS so far. First flight was fine. Then I let my son play and when I came back I can no longer control any plane only the camera. The planes take off and fly themselves! Set controller to dual sense, set assistance to default and messed with everything else I can think of.

In addition, graphics are very stuttery and freeze from time to time. Also one experience of a plane freezing in mid air while everything else below still moving!
Sony would refund either!

Is anyone going to publish the put of the box button settings for the PS5 controller?

I’d like to comment on the DLC portion of the game. I preordered the Premium Deluxe Edition with all the extra aircraft but discovered that even if you’re the primary user on the console you cannot share it with other users on the same console.

This is an issue as I bought the game for my 9yr old to play. He can play the base game but not the dlc part which I believe is due to it being streamed not installed. This differs to games such as train sim world where dlc downloaded on the main account is available for other users on the console to play.

Really really irritating because the dlc is on my account which I don’t want to play but the person who does can’t access it. Whats worse is PlayStation won’t transfer dlc or purchases nor will they refund the preorder so I can repurchase for my son.

Frustrating and the first time I have encountered this. Anyone have a solution? I’ve just spent a tonne of money thinking I could share it but can’t.

I think the game had so much potential specially with the ps5 pro. Please optimize the game as much as possible it’s literally the only thing it’s missing. It’s a great game with lots of potential! Buggy for today but hopefully they can push some good patches along the way! Keep the good work up!

Its a beta test, not the final release version.
Msfs is always buggy, welcome to the Microsoft experience

Hi, why can’t we install some of the content on the PS5’s SSD? Thanks

Crashes and crashes occur frequently, sending the aircraft back to the dashboard. Garmin screens constantly turn off and on and a memory full message often pops up. The problem also in career mode with the aircraft’s nav mode. Several times, I had to rely solely on the HDG settings, as the nav mode caused the aircraft to spin in circles.

Yes, that was my expereince - plane swaying left and right in Nav mode, had to switch to HDG - garmin 1000.

I have been playing since day 1 of Early Release on the PS5 Pro. I was very impressed by the high-resolution textures overall and I do think that the overall visual experience is remarkably good. Although, there are still the occasional stutters on every flight, happens all the time when opening window controls like the ATC panel. Would love to see further performance improvements while also improving visual fidelity (especially on the PS5 pro)

But the most disappointing experience is the LOD detail for Photogrammetry which is not at the level of detail it should be at and was expecting especially on the PS5 pro. Currently, no matter what altitude I fly at, Photogrammetry scenery looks bad. Building have a rough melted look which is very noticeable (if its from 2,000 feet or 7,000 feet above). The level of detail one would expect (even compared to default auto-get buildings) is not there. This is made worse by the REALY noticeable Pop-in of the LOD changes. A possible fix would be to let PS5 players be able to pre-download these Photogrammetry sceneries, just like it’s possible on PC. There is no reasons to not give this as an option and I’m sure it will improve visuals considerably - PS5 pro has 2tb storage so we should have an option. Further LODs should also be refined to improve quality and reduce the very obvious pop-in and LOD changes. Maybe more memory management optimization is needed here.

There is a bug that when you activate cursor mode and start move the stick shortly after activating curser mode, the actual click location is not aligned with the middle dot, resulting on not being able to click on what is being pointed at and maybe even clicking something else unintentionally.

There is no ability to set a key-bind PS controller to zoom in and out in cockpit view freely, would make sense to be able to so instead of heaving to move around closer’/further.

Really looking forward to PSVR2 support - it has the potential to be a real game changer (Like it was on Gran Turismo 7)

Great Job otherwise, very much enjoying it!

Just wanted to share some early impressions—I finally downloaded the sim on the PS5, and wow, it’s smooth. The initial loading times for entering the sim and starting a first flight were insanely fast. I didn’t even have to sit there watching the percentage slowly tick up like on the Xbox Series X.

Loaded into YMML (Melbourne) with live weather and traffic on, and it was faster than I think I’ve ever experienced. So far, I haven’t noticed any pop-in or blurry assets around the airport, which usually happens on the Series X. The walk-around felt incredibly smooth too, and the little vibration ticks when inspecting the aircraft are a lovely touch.

Once in the cockpit, just fiddling around, the performance compared to the Series X is night and day. No stutters at all. Switching to the external camera at the gate, which is normally a stutter-and-blur fest on Xbox, was silky smooth. Even noticed a few more liveries on live traffic, and everything moved without a hitch. Haven’t taken off yet, but early impressions are that it’s far smoother and more pleasant to interact with than the Xbox version.

Menus also feel quicker and more responsive than anything I’ve experienced on the Series X. Overall, super happy so far—even if I’ve barely scratched the surface—but finally being able to enjoy my favourite sim on my favourite console feels amazing. :white_check_mark:

Unfortunately this is a core system problem that has existed since 2020 came out and now 2024 on PC and Xbox. It’s mostly a technical limitation of how they are able to collect photogrammetry data. They will have to re-scan every real world location to fix this.

First of all, I want to say that the game is amazing. I have been playing MSFS on PC for a long time, but due to a recent work relocation, I haven’t been able to bring my computer with me yet. My PlayStation 5, however, is with me — and I’ve logged about 30 hours on the PS5 version so far.

The keyboard and mouse support works really well, and this is a huge plus. It delivers a very authentic simulation experience and honestly doesn’t feel far from the PC version. For that, I’m really grateful.

However, there are a few important points I’d like to highlight:

⸻

  1. Marketplace content is very limited

Right now, the Marketplace on PS5 feels quite restricted. After many hours of gameplay, it becomes a bit repetitive because there aren’t enough aircraft, liveries, or airports available.

It would greatly improve the experience if Marketplace content could be updated and expanded more frequently.

⸻

  1. Graphics on PS5 need some improvements

Overall performance is good, but certain visual elements — especially while flying at altitude — feel weaker compared to the PC version.
Cloud quality, shadow detail, and distant terrain/mesh resolution could definitely use some enhancement.

If these areas get improved, the PS5 experience would be outstanding.

⸻

Conclusion

Microsoft Flight Simulator on PlayStation 5 is far better than I expected, and I’m truly enjoying it. But expanding Marketplace content and refining some graphical elements would elevate the console experience even further.

I hope this feedback reaches the development team. I would love to enjoy this game for many years to come.

@safakylmaz1903 could you please elaborate in “The keyboard and mouse support works really well”?

While I agree that the mouse support is good, my experience with the keyboard is awful. I can’t use the keyboard to anything but to write in the playstation keyboard popup.
As far as I could see, we can’t use the keyboard to enable autopilot or put the flaps, or basically anything useful.

Please explain to us how you got the keyboard to work with the mouse and controller. My keyboard doesn’t work

Bought a 4K TV and a PS5 Pro, and the game still keeps crashing. Also, PS5 players might not be the target group that wants to spend hours learning everything, but simply wants to enjoy the flight and feel like a pilot. Everything is so complicated, and I don’t understand why the co-pilot option was removed from the game. Please bring back the co-pilot feature that allows him to fly from start to finish by pressing just one button. Make the whole experience from the boarding to leaving the plain easier i don’t wanna study how to start a boing i just wanna fly. Please make it easier and realistic it has so much potential also for amateurs…..
