What was your experience downloading and installing SU1?
  • The installation of SU1 completed successfully, and download speeds were fast and smooth.

All polls except the one related to download/installation are deliberately closed for now. We will open the polls for voting once players have had a chance to fully experience SU1.

Can’t get a flight to load. Install went ok, but after I click Start Flight, it won’t load. I’ve been staring at a bunch of clouds for 20 minutes.

I tried to close the program and rebooted. On my second attempt the sim crashed during loading.

On my third attempt, I got into the sim again but flight wouldn’t load after cicking Start Flight.

Have the Robinson R 66, H 125, Cabri helicopters not received any repairs? I don’t see the repair list.

No change on the wing rocking issue in the A321. No change on the exterior lights on the 737 max.

Zoom in pretty much all the way wait about 30 seconds then start the flight.

Looks like the issue is with live weather. I got a flight to load using weather preset, but stuck staring at clouds when live weather is selected

I didn’t understand: if I’m on beta (via steam) shall I switch to the normal version or can I keep running the beta?

Switch to the normal update.

Hello @eklester,

The SU1 beta is over, and the final SU1 release version will download automatically for you. You may choose to stay enrolled in the beta if you would like to receive the SU2 public beta once it is released, or you can opt out of the beta to remain on SU1.

Bit of a messy update.

I opted out of the Beta through Xbox insider hub. All good.
Tried to run MSFS24. After getting stuck in a loop of downloading the 8.7GB Update 3 times, I tried restarting.

Still stuck in the loop after restarting, I cancelled the download, Ran WSReset and now I think it’s uninstalled the program and wiped my community folder.

I appreciate all the updates and it’s a loooong list too. I know that the LOD issue will be addressed in SU2 however i just fired up SU1 perhaps expecting hopefully for a LOD/terrain improvement - i was wrong LOL

I will sure check in again when SU2 launches and holding thumbs that i can again fly during the day. Cheers to the team for the updates!

Wouldn’t load trying this either. If you wouldn’t mind trying… Select the TBM 930, departure from KBOS parking 68, arrival KHYA. Live weather and see if it will load for you…

By the looks of it, many issues that were reported being regressed or bad in the beta build were fixed only to be unfixed again by later builds and then carried on to the actual update, such as poor quality terrain/pg LOD which was good on the first maybe 3 beta builds but regressed to launch build quality later on.

Nice to see many fixes to aircraft but again some were left without any update or just minor updates such as with the default max, and saab340.

Stuff like this makes me wonder what is going on.

  • 747 Supertanker, added apu blur…why? when the rest of the outside model looks like garbage with lod issues?

Kind of mixed feelings about SU1, on the otherhand lots of things fixed but then again lots of things that had feedback on the forum did not actually get fixed.

All my key bindings were gone after Sim Update 1. I started a mission in career mode and tried to re-install my settings on the go before taking off. Unfortunately i must have missed some and crashed my aircraft attempting to take-off. Thanks very much!

I’m sorry but a bit confused here. I was on .24. Now t started the sim and it’s downloading 8.7 GB of update. Is it normal? Are beta tester aitomatically opted out of the beta now that SU1 i released?
To get SU2 betas should we enroll againg for beta channel or what?

SU1 has redisabled the JMB VL3 in career
Flight Design CT remains removed from career so the one I have in my fleet remains locked

Nice new Cessna taildragger to fly - seems like a good one - thanks.
Terrain: at a local grass airstrip (which is not very flat in real life) it is now a sea of frozen waves most at least half a metre high - very unrealistic. trees: seems less but still waay too many and on crop fields, ditches and hedges. Bridges: the update has ‘stolen’ all three very famous Forth Bridges near EGPH in Scotland (See picture of them in '20) . Haven’t checked any other world bridges yet - hope they are still there.

Normally, the final beta build is the same as the full release build, but SU1 was an exception since the final build also contains code related to the upcoming Marketplace launch which was not part of the beta. Please see this thread for more information:

If you would like to automatically install the SU2 beta as soon as it is available, then no action is needed on your part. Stay enrolled in the beta, and you will receive the SU2 public test build automatically. If you would like to remain on SU1 and not participate in the upcoming SU2 beta, then you should manually un-enroll from the beta.
