I am still baffled how they managed to introduce these stutters after SU1 only for them to say “We don’t really know why that’s happening” now.
Exactly this. These were my exact thoughts during the livestream where they said they didn’t know why it was stuttering and freezing just before touchdown. How can they not know the difference between SU1 and 2? SU1 was so smooth in every aircraft that I nearly uninstalled FS2020. For me, SU2 was an absolute disaster. SU3 is a huge step forward for me and most of the 3rd party airports I’ve flown into have been great. But for some reason it’s not being that way for everyone. But I think the difference here is many people are flying in career mode with ATC using Asobo aircraft. I’ve only been flying inibuilds Airbus models and PMDG 777-300ER in free flight, all of which are near flawless, especially the 777
A late-night flight test of the Fenix A320 in FS2024 from Albuquerque to Phoenix was smooth and flawless. The flight plan loaded seamlessly, control interactions were spot on, and the weather and clouds were highly realistic. Despite a few minor issues with the scenery and jetways, the overall experience was great, especially considering the mid-range PC setup.
That is not the case, there absolutely is. I can give you at least one example to disprove your statement: myself
I do criticise parts of the game and also MS/Asobos decision making, while at the same time I do appreciate and openly defend the overall achievement that is MSFS 2024. And actually I can tell you a lot of names of other people posting here regularly that are doing the same.
Just don’t get fooled by the loud haters and doom-mongers or the ones that opportunistically pretend to have the perfect SIM.
The Career Mode bugs have probably been successfully included in SU3! I just got penalized for not announcing my landing intentions because Mission Steps ignored the requested keypress I was making. On another mission, pressing my button for brakes only releases the parking brake and does not apply brakes at all. Thank goodness for Restart and Abort in the menu!
Back to Reno to San Francisco This is using the internal bells and whistles in MSFS 2024 for traffic. On landing seems to still be at >60 FPS. All the plane information lights up and I think it may have stuttered but it is interesting and tolerable. They do not have a perfect match of livery and information but it is pretty good (perfect by ATC Traffic but planes wander about aimlessly).
With nothing turned on FPS is circa 80.
Unfortunately the screen captures do not show the detailed aircraft information.
In any case pretty happy with SU3 performance. Could never do this in SU2. Here are some screen shots showing the liveries at the United Gates… contaminated with a few Southwest planes and also a nice shot on approach showing why this is called “For City”.
i7-12th gen, 3080, 45L HP Omen. Did a full uninstall and reinstall and its working much better. I did have controls stop working 2x causing crashes, but that was the beginning of a nine hour flight.
Nvidia control panel tweaks. Using Lossless Scaling app and running 2k and ultra on most settings.
A full uninstall and reinstall of 2020 helped for 2020 as well.
since the SU3 update the passengers no longer work. What I mean by that is: during boarding, the bus or the gate is completely without passengers, or they only board up to 40% and then remain in the bus or at the gate. This happens both in free flight and in career mode.
In addition, performance drops significantly, causing the passengers to start stuttering. Boarding worked before the SU3 update.
Is this problem only happening to me, or are you experiencing the same difficulties?
Because I like AIG. I fly in Iran mostly. The airliners over there fly old planes that sometimes don’t show up on live radars so I would be missing a lot of AI traffic using the live systems.
Personally i have never had such a good time as today. Yes, i have still some issues with freezing mouse and controls, but the sim never ever has run this smooth with these settings for me. Even in 2020. So i am happy. But still after every update there is something that seems more broken…. I only saw 1 multiplayer plane f.i. at TNCM, weather/metar is still off at loads of places (tailwind landing in Saba??) and not even talk about ingame ATC… But graphic and smoothness.. ohh finally.. although that also seems to change somewhat by day..
This is what many of the photogrammetry regions look like on my PC since SU3 (and the same in MSFS 2020 since SU16). Terrain popping everywhere, despite TLOD 200. It’s practically unplayable for me.
I got a High End PC, when I fly around over land I got 100-150 fps, but than it drops down to 60-80 fps and stutters very bad with this SU3. I try diffrent planes and helis and also diffrent nvidia driver. Anyone got that too?betonter Text
I wish we had signatures on posts so I do not need to ask you what is your CPU/GPU configuration. I have a Ryzen 5960 and a 5080 and running 110 at cruise and 80 on landing without bells and whistles.
