Just done update 10 and Framerate almost 1 every 3 seconds. Even tried usual reinstall. Come on MSFS2020 please look after those with lower spec machines.
What’s are the specs. of your computer, and what graphics settings do you have configured?
its pc have not a easy life
uff
maybe better he look to aerofly
Those specs. are quite low, as you point out. That processor came out in 2012.
It’s possibly a case of unrealistic expectations, and that dialling back settings, and LOD’s would be necessary.
Or XP12. Beta is out in July I think, so @Grollie1640 could give that a go. Though as with most flight sims, the CPU will likely be your biggest bottleneck to performance.
nope, also to low. The new Graphic Engine are very hungry
All that new eye candy and flight model has to be put somewhere.
It’s a shame as I’ve been watching the run up videos and I get the feeling XP-12 is a rewrite, however, it’s a rewrite by the same people so there’s potentially no benefit.
to be sure: @Grollie1640 may be you can post some screenshots of your settings. We have some topics where users post recommendations for “not newest hardware”. If you had better fps before the update, please check that the settings are same.
Within the older topic it was already mentioned that your hardware runs slowly out. May be its time to think about an upgrade. And I hope you not have Sophos installed again
And turn off everything with the word “live”.
The worm has been in there since SU09.
Calling a World Update a failure because you don’t get better performance is a failure on your part on two accounts:
- a World Update only provides content and does not address performance issues.
- you’re trying to run MSFS on a Computer that barely has the minimum specs: a 10 year old CPU and a 5 year old GPU. You won’t get any better performance - no matter what the next updates will bring. Sorry too say: but you can be glad MSFS even starts.
Your PC barely approaches recommended specs for the game. Moderate performance with low graphical settings is the best you can hope for. MS/Asobo can’t hold back the sim indefinitely to accommodate your decade-old CPU. If you want to “just run” games without worrying about PC specs, I recommend you get an Xbox.
Or he could just use the Xbox Cloud Gaming version and basically play it on a potato with screen
Thanks for replies I did turn down settings from high to medium. I’m doing full reinstall including Windows 10
Sorry OP – your computer is the issue… not the sim. As others mentioned, look to upgrading or look to Xbox Cloud maybe?
That poor fella…PC lives matter!!
Unfortunately, a 3rd gen Intel CPU is under the minimum spec. It MAY run on it, but to expect any reasonable performance is asking for way too much of hardware of that vintage considering it struggles to run on current gen hardware.
Also keep in mind that the minimum spec they list typically only means it will run on that. There’s no promises of how well it will run. Windows 95 had a 20 MHz 386SX as a minimum requirement. It WOULD run. But it could take up to 30 mins to boot to a usable desktop and several minutes to open an app on a machine of that grade.
Just because it will run on the minimum doesn’t mean it’s usable. And if you’re below the minimum… well, it’s a ■■■■shoot.
sadly i don’t have finances to upgrade or purchase another Pc (uk cost of living on Disablement). I have managed to run up until now MSFS quite reasonable 24-25fps. Before this update as long as i was not using Topgun type Ac the specs when i first purchased MSFS nearly 2 years ago it was manageable and coped. But i am doing Full Windows 10 installation and then Reinstall MSFS and Xplane 11
I’ve seen several people who said they’ve had to reduce their graphics settings in order to maintain the performance they used to have with previous versions. This is not how updates are usually supposed to work, but this is apparently how it works with MS Asobo.
World updates do not only change content. The main exe file was also modified with WU10 and also many core content not related to scenery too. For instance 747 autopilot now randomly does not follow the route after you selected the approach in flight computer. It still continues to the destination airport, so yes, it has been a total failure and no lessons were learnt after the SU9 mess. Honestly many free content needs to come to compensate the last months because they have been a nosense followed by another and obviously all those things must be shorted and fixed.
Cheers
