POP OUT panel stop working in VR

How is this still not fixed? Popout panels are rendered separately as evidenced by the fact that they can work on screens drawn by one GPU while the rest of the sim is rendered by a different GPU, so it makes zero sense that they would stop working when VR is enabled. As the original reporter mentioned, this worked fine in SU9. This really seems like it should be a relatively simple code change to fix. It’s been two years, can this get some attention? Mixed reality and pass through modes are getting more and more popular, this needs to get fixed.

Is VR such a low priority for Microsoft that they don’t mind alienating those who are pushing the hobby forward?
Anyone with an ounce of imagination can surely see that VR and in particulat VR with decent passthrough is the future. No need to build a room sized sim anymore… just add the hardware you need… which for many will include instruments on a separate screen for either passthrough or a basic multi-person cockpit.

Also, this bug report is tagged with “steam”, which could be misleading. I’m on the Windows Store version with the same bug

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

Affects both steam and ms-store versions

Hardware specs:

  • Meta Quest Pro VR headset
    *Realsimgear G1000 (PFD and MFD)
    *G9 Odyssey display
    *Intel i9-13900k
    *Asus Z790 A
    *64 GB DDR5

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

*Loading into a vanilla session of MSFS2020 (non VR mode) popping out the G1000 PFD and/or the MFD, MSFS2020 has no problem refreshing those popped-out windows (on either the monitor itself or on the attached G1000 displays.

*If VR mode is enabled prior to popping out these windows, the pop-out display(s) will appear blank.

*Loading into a vanilla session of MSFS2020, turning on the virtual G1000’s (to display the AHRS/ ADC on the PFD, with Map data/ ancillary data on the MFD), and popping out those displays will continue to update Until the display mode is switched to VR mode, where the popped-out windows will only display the last refreshed window piror to vr mode. Oddy though, I was noticing on the MFD, the low oil pressure state was inverting between Red on White to White on Red much faster (almost as if the polling was hardware locked to the primary display)

This is leaving a thought that there is still a display processing thread active within memory, but because of VR mode, it behaves like a boolean switch. Not sure if the reasoning was an oversight or because of the stereoscopic 3d to 2d projection would be a reference to subordinate display processes/threads (and may cause display issues on other displays).

the issue appears to NOT have been addressed in SU15…

Same issue, Mixed Reality requires display of cockpit pop outs to view in pass through feed while flying in VR. On entering VR the pop out displays ( G1000, G3000, G530, ect) no longer get updated but freeze as they were when entering VR.
