Ok, maybe something else will happen, that would be very strange if such an obvious bug would make it into the official version.
It wouldn’t surprise me, but it would definitely be disturbing.

Still happens im pretty sure. Really hope Asobo notices this post, because this is a weird one.
Still happening. I saw them on a flight to KSTS as I was flying over the SF Bay Area at 6500’.
It SHOULD be hotfixed though shouldn’t it? I mean it got “broke”…

Yeah Asobo only patches the most critical bugs or what they found themselves. The rest stays untouched and that’s why the small bugs keep piling up. Or at least what they consider to be small bugs.
There should be continuous bug fixing with regular patches outside of the release schedule of the feature updates.

that’s true…all the other developers patch their games any time they can. if they don’t fix the weather now we will have to wait at least 3 more months?

I have a BAD feeling we are going to be struck with popcorn clouds until… well probably the life of the sim. Hope I am VERY WRONG

Have had this on every flight post beta SU8 install. Daily flying spread throughout AU and USA. I did NOT see them when doing landing challenges today so something with those weather presets is preventing them from forming. For my normal daily flights I use MSFS live weather.
And the google map mod does display weather in SU 8
It’s getting very annoying, there doesn’t seem to be clear skies any more with live weather on.
Everywhere there are these small scattered clouds, it looks the same everywhere.
It is everywhere now. The weather system is out of control. But we must be patient and allow them another year to sort out. All will be fine.

If they could revert the weather back to pre su4 i could enjoy a varied live-weather with gusts in the meantime we wait. I don’t really know what they want to achieve with the weather right now actually. What are the improvements with SU7 besides the solid circle of fog around airports?

Is weather even working? I can not see clouds or precipitation on the beging world screen on the dashboard. I double checked my filters and they are all on
Had popcorn clouds over africa yesterday when it should have been cloudless. I was flying along with some guys on a twitch stream last night using live weather. They were all using the current release version and I was on latest beta.
They all had no clouds, whereas I had popcorn.
Of course we couldn’t see each other in multiplayer either, but that was expected.

as funny side note … today here in Cologne Germany we actually have popcorn clouds IRL. So no point testing here

Even on a METAR reporting CLR there will be rogue popcorns like that. Especially on a day where convection conditions are present. To side with the post though, I would agree the popcorn effect is overexaggerated.
EDIT:: Maybe not though because if you were looking from ground level you might see 2 or 3 of those popcorns in your visible range.
180 miles into a 260 mile flight and I’ve had popcorn the entire way so far. No difference between METAR and non-METAR areas that I can tell.

This has bug-logged. It means it is a bug. I don’t expect a hofix for it though. I think it may be fixed in SU9.
