I would partially agree with your comment that “bugs in the current version, even as minor as this one is, seem to be sidelined”.
I think that work on resolving 2020 bugs inevitably will slow for the remainder of this year as the MSFS team work on getting 2024 released in November. But there is an SU16 planned for this year - see the

Furthermore I believe “showstoppers” - where users can’t use the sim at all - will continue to be acted upon as high-priority items & resolved one the root-cause of the issue is understood, such as with the “checking for updates” issue recently:
