Possible to play with Joystick only (no mouse?)

Is it possible to play the game completely with a joystick (no mouse?) when playing MSFS 2024 on the PC? I’ve run into the following blockers:

  1. There is no ability to click on Garmin touchscreen controllers, like the GTC 580 in the Cirrus Vision Jet G2. This also seems impossible with an Xbox controller.
  2. It’s not possible to click the toolbar with a Joystick.

My left mouse click is only bound to Interact and Cockpit Interaction - Primary Action. Even when I unbind both of these, I am still able to use my left mouse button to click on the touch screen and white toolbar, which makes me think there are no keybinds for these!!!

Another limitation of the Joystick is that when it is used a white dot does not appear on the screen to allow you to click on things (unlike the Xbox controller), so I’ve been having to enter cursor mode for this. Even after setting Accessibility -> Effects and Animation -> Show the white dot cursor in freelook & Allow 2D cursor on all peripherals. This allows other cockpit interactions to work, but not touchscreens.

I have been working on this as well. The settings make sense when I read them, but it never comes out quite right. Currently, I am able to look around in the cockpit. But I can only use the Cockpit Interact bound on my stick if I jiggle the mouse first to get a hand. When I go to cursor mode, then the interact button stops working. It still highlights buttons, but I can’t click them.

I have a spare axis on my stick. If only that could be the literal mouse cursor they use.
