Possible VR memory leak

When playing VR my 64GB of RAM completely fills up, eventually crashing the game. I have been doing some testing, but the issue seems to happen in VR only. It happens repeatedly, almost every session. In desktop mode everything runs really stable as far as I have tested.

I am running the latest SU4 beta. I have disable almost all external addons, just to see if it helps. I am using the Pimax Crystal Super Ultrawide. I also have a motion rig and all sort of controllers.

I have made a screenrecording from the flatscreen in dev mode with the FPS information screen and when the crash happens. I can share this if this is helpful.

Maybe someone here can help, curious to see if I am the only one having this issue.

You’re running beta. Have you tried stable? (SU3)

Not yet tried reverting to SU3, but I am curious to know if others have similar issues or if this is just a me problem.

If you’re familiar with Windows Event logs, you should be able to see which application was the cause of the failure. You can copy and paste the log into Google Gemini, for example, to see what it makes of it.

Look in the Application log for Errors around the time of the failure.

For what it’s worth, I’m on SU4 beta and only fly in VR, I haven’t experienced an issue like this in SU4. I did have an issue that presented like a memory leak in SU3 if I flew the A10 as after about 10 minutes of flight, the sim would start lagging and would crash.

I checked task manager and MSFS2024 was actually at 45-50GB RAM before crashing, so it is MSFS itself causing the issue. Also the FPS counter from devmode shows similar values. Interesting to hear you have no issue in SU4, but something similar happened in SU3.
