Man, it was crazy times. I used PVC-like plastic, I think it was the cover of a report book. I cut using a heated stylet(?) and using a steel ruler to guide the cut. I made the keys with small pieces of transparent acrylic, glued together. The last, or, the bottom one was bigger than the hole, thus holding the key in the correct position. The key went down and up by the push button force. I printed white letters on a black background, pasted over each key. I placed several white LEDs under this structure and the light passed only through the white color of the letters, giving the impression of backlighting. I used one keyboard circuit board for FMS only. My PC had two keyboards. To use this one from FMS, I came up with a switch that was triggered when I touched the dimmer button. There was a function in this FMS (EMB Legacy by FeelThere) that allowed us to type using the keyboard. Thus, the dimmer button activated and deactivated the option. All other keys and buttons on the simulator functioned by a combination of keyboard keys, joystickā€™s and a Stargate/MJoy card. It was a time when my country, Brazil, still had a very closed economy. It was difficult to import electronic equipment, in fact, it was almost impossible to import anything. We had to improvise. Nowadays, everything has changed, we have access to anything. But those times forced us to improvise, use creativity, or even find the hidden creativity that every human being has. The construction part, in wood of different types, was all modeled by hand, using jigsaw, stylus, sandpaper. Nowadays Iā€™ve tools that I never dreamed existed. Itā€™s funny to remember the past, so thank youā€¦ stay safe.
Edit.:
For the round holes I used a drill, then sanded using the sandpaper fixed on a pencil.

I only fly the Grand Caravan and this is my setup. Coming from the FSX i am happy that it works with the MSFS. Still a lot of work to be done but thats what keeps it fun. (please excuse my english)

That looks awesome NebulaKrid! That is really clean. I like it a lot!

Give us some more details about the displays youā€™re using, your computer(s), what kind of FPS you are getting, what monitor resolution you are using, etc.

I could see that in my Man Dungeonā€¦

Is that an actual photograph?

And, I take it you did the hack where you put the camera view outside of the windshield, correct?

That would not bother me If couldnā€™t see the rain drops hitting the windshield.

I am using a FX 8350 and a Radeon RX 5700 XT with 24 GB RAM. I get about 25 to 30 fps with ā€œHighā€ Settings. ThatĀ“s not the best but its ok. The Displays are connectet with eye-finity. ItĀ“s not perfect but it works for me.
Yes, i use the hack with the view outside of the windshield. i miss the effects on the shield, but itĀ“s all i can do for now.
And yes, that is an actual photograh.

And the laptop on the right drives the PFD in front of you, correct?

That is great looking cockpit!

No, the laptop is running with vrmaps via webserver. the PFD is only an 4th monitor.
And thank you. IĀ“m not a pro. Just doing it for fun an to relaxā€¦

I use screens. Looks better on the Photo then it is in real life! :see_no_evil:

1080p or 1440, Nebula?

Looks great, Hal!

That looks amazing!

I use 1080p

Killer setup.

Someday, we will all get 4K, 60 fps on triples and be set for good. Think positive thoughts.

Thanks for sharing, Dudes!

Then people will moan about poor fps on 8K.
