Power Plants Re-Added

Hi,

I would like to request that you re-add the power plants into the game.

One of my main VFR objects for visual reference is the Byron Nuclear Power plant just SW of Rockford Airport (KRFD) I use that for a visual reference when flying and know where the KRFD is located at.

I have turned all my settings on max, thinking that would be the issue. But I still did not see it.

So, I would like to make a request/wishlist on re-adding the power plants into the game again, for visual reference points for VFR flights.

Thanks

re-added? Have they been in the sim before and then removed? Or do you simply say that they should add power plants?

I think he’s saying they were in previous Microsoft title(s), hence the “re-added”.

Add nuclear power plants!
There are currently no nuclear power plants in the simulation. When you fly over places that have them in the real world, the simulation interprets them that way:

Either the cooling towers are round warehouses with truck ramps or just textures.
But nuclear power plants are outstanding buildings in the landscape, and can be very helpful for orientation. The good thing is, nuclear power plants all look pretty similar. That means if you built a model, you could use it for other places as well without having to make big changes, if any at all.

There is a list of all nuclear power plants and their coordinates on Wikipedia:

There are some that would prefer there were no nuclear power plants on the real planet earth. Perhaps this is just another political statement from such people…

Maybe Asobo will add them with gliders so we can have nuclear updrafts

I am hoping someone can provide clarity for this.

Recently Oslo Norway was added with having photogrammetry, and it extends rather far beyond just Oslo. In researching these areas before I flew over them, I learned somewhere in Kjeller there was a nuclear research reactor facility JEEP-II but there are two things unclear. #1, the specific location, and #2, if any part of it being decommissioned started before/after the photogrammetry of this area was taken, which adds a 3rd thing unclear, was the photogrammetry in this area taken in 2014, or after, and if after, when?

This is a picture of the facility-

EVERY article I come across regarding this facility, the only thing it says regarding it’s location, is “located approximately 20km north east of Oslo”

Super secretive. I’m no terrorist, just curious to see something different that I know I would never see in real life.

Especially the addition of nuclear power plants that emit steam would increase realism and further assisst in orientation. For example, if you are standing on a mountain in switzerland, you can spot the steam clouds even if they are far away. This would like awesome in MSFS.
