Powered HUB-Excellent Switched ports

Amazon.com: Powered USB Hub RSHTECH Type C to 7 Port USB 3.0 Data Port Hub Expander Aluminum Portable Splitter with Universal 5V AC Adapter and Individual On/Off Switches for Laptop and PC(Black) : Electronics

All - I had an TOTU hub which could be powered, but not switched off/on. So after new PC arrived and did not want to be on the floor plugging in and unplugging I searched for one could put at the back of my desk. Alas, I purchased the one above. Seven ports, all switched, and it’s powered all the time. I can plug in my flight sim stuff, DVD BR Burner, Two different ear buds, and still have empty ports to operate two additional devices. It’s been working for about month, and at first felt switches might be PIA. NO, switches are great, I just turn on what I want to work when and away I go. Highly recommended if you need hub. It hooks to PC via USB-C cable, and all the ports at USB 3.2 and below.

Externally powered, switched USB Hubs are key in MSFS if you run allot of peripherals. I don’t bother turning them on/off, but externally powered is a must.

Also going into Device Settings and ensuring the USB Bus is not set to allow power suspend.

I run two of these guys,

I do not have that many things I need to run. Well, there is the hub on the flight chair allowing the Throttle and JS to have one wire instead of two coming into PC, that wire plugs into extension cable plugged into the hub listed above. Mouse is BT, Keyboard is direct into PC. Speakers are direct into PC and 8TB drive is direct into PC. Everything else is in the hub.

I have 2 of these for 2+ years now, running various msfs peripherals and I’m happy about them, no issues so far. I’ll probably be buying a third one soon-ish.

I have a 16 port version of this.

A really good hub, with one issue. A couple of the switches will not latch correctly, and can take a few attempts at getting them to lock. Other than that, worth the money.

I have two 8-port powered USB3 hubs with individual on/off switches on each port.
I turn my HOTAS off when I’m using my Alpha/Bravo, and vice versa. It’s nice to be able have that individual control.

I use two RSTECH, 10 ports each, bought at different times a few years ago. Can only attest them to work excellently, and I use a host of peripherals, including 10 FIPs, (switched on/off as required).

I had several others before which lacked the ability to switch off individual ports.
