Brief description of the issue:

I can now precisely predict a freeze and ultimate ctd. What do I do? Load a B737 PMDG in a random airport. Go to the FMC and make just 1 adjustment in the simulation chapter. This triggers the file 737_Options.ini to be changed in over 130 lines. A fresh ini file consists of only these lines `[IRS.0]
LastPosValid=0
[IRS.1]
LastPosValid=0´
The file ‘737_Options.ini’ can be found here: “C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\pmdg-aircraft-737\work”

Leave the flight and load another plane (to unload the previous one) into a new flight. In the meanwhile I add these lines to the mentioned ini file.

[SDK]
EnableDataBroadcast=1
EnableCDUBroadcast.0=1
EnableCDUBroadcast.1=1

This enables me to get data in my external FMC (tablet) from the PMDG737 (theoretically).

Load the previous PMDG 737 again in a flight. Helas it never comes to that. Always freezes and crashes. I can’t even see the yellow Fly button, the sim just freezes and crashes.
I always update Windows, Nvidia drivers, and subsequently refresh all cache files from the pc. Still use addons like GSX, FS Realistic because I can not do without these addons.

Hmm, looks like PMDG might want a look at all your details there, maybe start a case with them too!

Good thinking, will do that.

So you edit the config file while MSFS is still running? Is there any reason to do that?
And would the issue not be fully avoided by doing so with MSFS unloaded from he system?

Hi Matthijs,

I did both actually, with and without the sim running. Of course you will have to unload an aircraft first for changes to take effect. It makes no difference unfortunately. One other thing I always see in the win logging is ntdll.dll is affected aswel as Couatl64_MSFS.exe. But as I said before I can not do without these addons like GSX specifically. Dunno what ntdll.dll has to do with it btw. Haven’t read any posts concerning this dll. Also must mention I uninstalled PMDG completely from the system and reinstalled it afterwards but it remains an issue. Always that freeze and crash.

NB
Ik herinner me jou nog van 1995 op de FS dagen op SPL ( je zat toen net bij Aerosoft vlgs mij). Grappig… Misschien weer op 16 maart? In Lelystad?

Hej Matthijs
One other thing related is that I am trying to get the same post on PMDG but I dont have permission to do so. Wrote the site admin about this on how I can fix this. Can you be of help on this perhaps?

Unloading the aircraft does not fully clear it inside the sim, so it does not surprise me that could cause problems. Doing it outside the sim however is strange, we could not recreate this in any way and have never heard about this issue before. Could be a rights issue, running fully with admin rights.

And yes, I will be in Lelystad like every year. We even have a booth there to show the 777!
For our forum, most likely you have not replied to the signup email; check the spam folder. If all fails drop me a email with the username at mkok@pmdg.com and I’ll do it manually,

I do run almost everything sim related with full admin rights. I will see/talk to you perhaps in Lelystad then. Looking forward to it.

Do you recommend perhaps I will file an kind of official issue/support-ticket at PMDG’s?

Do make a ticket, that way it is at least noted.

See you in Lelystad!
