“Pred W/S Off” on A32NX

Quick question. Flying the A32NX. What does “Pred W/S Off” mean on the annunciator screen?

And this Aircraft is coming on leaps and bounds!

I believe windshear detection is currently just a placeholder in the mod.

Thanks for that!

They added some dummy switches to the A320n. I believe to make checklists feel more real before the actual implementation arrives. If there will be any, for that matter.

Windshear prediction. Actually it is a warning system mostly helpful during take off and early climb, once windshears are encountered. It requires an activated weather radar and usually measures the movement of air masses around the aircraft. If the later reaches a hazardous momentum, that threatens the aircraft and passenger safety, an alert will be given, consisting of an verbal electronic “Windshear, Windshear, Windshear”
As stated, I don’t believe that the system is working here

Very informative! Thanks for the info, guys!

No, it doesn’t work, but there is a fake switch on the weather radar to “turn it on”.
Doing so clears the alarm.

Cool! Just cleared the notification! Thanks

It’s a predictive Wind shear notification that your system is off.
Just go to your weather radar panel under the radio centre console. And switch the PWS to Auto. That should remove the notice that your PWS is off.

Today’s modern twin-engine airplanes have a greater power-to-weight ratio than earlier generation three- and four-engine jets. Consequently, the pilots of these new twinjets have more thrust available to them even with the FADEC limitations.

Wind shear accidents have decreased over the years because of better pilot training, predictive technology and the greater power-to-weight ratio of twinjets.
