I believe you are both right in some way:
Preikestolen in FS2024 is now part of the normal terrain, so it “is there”, but it is disguised by trees (and a too coarse elevation model) to an extent where it is unrecognizable. I know how this place looks from several photos and from a VR experience which lets you walk on it. However I had to use Google Earth in order to find the spot near the top of the cliff where it should have been visible in FS2024 and only found trees there.
Funny thing is: The mentioned world photographer mission has a cover image which shows the Preikestolen rock plateau as a custom 3D asset, but this asset is not there in the actual simulator in the same way that the Moai statues of easter island are visible on the mission cover image but missing in the simulator.
