Pressure readings (ATC/ATIS/METAR) and airplane instruments need to be location based and interchangeable between InHg and hPa/mbar

Here’s a cheat sheet if you need something in the meantime…

Yes. It’s absolutely possible. Not always for GA aircraft (although there usually is a way) but certainly avaliable for all larger aircraft.

Hello there, thank you so much for the support.
In A320 I’ve already found but in GA aircraft even if pressing PFD button the option is not available in G1000.
Let’s wait for the next updates praying for it and another importante improvements.

Hi there. How do you change the altimeter Subscale from inches mercury to hecta pascals.
As this is what is used most throughout the world.

This is not possible at this time. The developers have this in the their backlog to be added. Have moved your post to the Wishlist subcategory where suggestions and requests are posted. Thanks.

Maybe we all should file a bug report/request to add hpa and kg,
because this is annoying

Hello,

yes do it right now. It looks like they solve some priorities as much users sent some bug/requirements. i also did.

I’d also be pleased to know how to switch between inches and hectopascal (either using PFD or using a simulator property)

Point mouse button over pressure button, and finger should appear press it, and it should change from Inhg to hPa.

I know that. Just wasn’t phrasing it right, sorry.
Is there any way to switch ATC to use hPa? InHg is used in a handful of coutries. Most of the world uses hPa.

As far i know there is none for now, we just need to wait and see if they will add option later, but i don’t think it will it will come soon, as its not a big priority for devs, so we have to convert manually for now.

Makes sense, just wanted to confirm I haven’t missed something in the settings.
Yeah, it’s not a priority or a great issue, but it should be fairly easy to implement, since all the METARs are already giving the reading in the measurement that is used. They just need to not convert it and just read it as it is.

Whilst I fully appreciate things like this are not (and never will be) a high priority, some of them should be so simple to implement that there is almost no excuse for it to take so long - if it ever comes at all and history doesn’t bode well there.

Most sims with any kind of on-screen HUD let you choose your default units between mph/kmh/knots etc. (not sure if MSFS does). It’s all standard stuff and should be in there from the start. With ATC audio now being generated on the fly, it should be easier than ever.

I agree. It’s painful to convert everything from gallons and pounds when using the A320 which uses kilograms and tons.
The pressure readings are even easier to fix imo, since they convert them all to inHg. They just need to not convert them.

there is not, I have raised this as a bug on Zendesk

ACTUALLY we use Millibars in the UK / Europe thank you.

These should have been supported from the beginning.

Agreed. The whole world uses either hPa (same as mbar) or inHg.

Anyone have any idea how to change the barometer unit? Seems you can change them in some airliners but not possible on the G1000s in GA A/C?

hPa would definitely help the realism, as would kilos and litres. I learnt to fly with those units, so the imperial ones are difficult to get used to!

TIA devs!

Yes, please. No-one likes cavemen units except US ppl, 4% of the earth’s population.
