Problem moving app

I am trying to move the fs2020 app from the C: drive to the external E: 2TB SSD but I get an error message " We couldn’t move Microsoft Flight Simulator. The app is not supported on the target drives file system. Try moving to a different location. The error code is 0x80073d13 in case you need it. "
Would a format of the SSD help ??
Or any other suggestions/ideas

Is the SSD formated as NTFS?

Sorry I don’t know. It was originally formatted as 1TB for Linux (EXT4) and 1TB for Windows. I have it connected to the Win10 desktop computer that I have installed fs2020 on. I can format it from the desktop if needed.

Try that. I assume you just made the 1TB as FAT for Linux? Linux has no issues with NTFS as long as you have the modules installed (well as far as I recall anyways).

EDit: You only need to format the 1TB non-ext4 partition as NTFS.

I can format the whole disk as NTFS as I don’t use the disk on both machines now. Would it be better as 2 partitions D: and E: ??. I will need to look for the best way to format this.

I generally prefer 1 partiion per disk. You can clean the partitions and recreate them from the Disk Management tool in Windows

The block size may prevent you moving to the new SSD.
I don’t have a good solution other than re download the software onto the SSD.
Had this same issue and there’s probably a solution from someone more capable than myself.

I’m back and all is well (at the moment).
I have looked at the ext ssd and it is split in 2 partitions. I have formatted both to NTFS and now have E: and F: on the SSD.
I went to Apps > Apps & Features and clicked on Microsoft Flight Simulator > Move and it moved without complaint. I have yet to start it up but I hope it is ok. I will report back.

I have started fs2020 from the desktop using the original icon and it started ok without problems. I will see what happens in the coming weeks but I would like to thank you guys for your help so far.
There was a note on the instructions I received about 'updating the UserConf.opt file but I haven’t done that. I checked and it was already done ??
Will need some time now setting up controller/s.
