Problem with Asobo 78X and Horizon 787-9 FMC and routing, double waypoints and simbrief flightplan loading. Cant add VOR stations

Hello.

Since last navdata update / Asobo 78X update I’m experiencing issues in Asobo 78X and horizon sim 787-9 mod. Quite often aircraft cant load in the flightplan from simbrief. When I click to request the flightplan I’ve created on simbrief it does not load in (but it loads cargo, payload and pax numbers correctly = simbrief connection is valid). In 5/10 cases I press the request flightplan it says request SENT and then nothing happens. Flightplan is empty so I ihave to put all waypoints manually and there is another problem. Since last update (Asobo 78X update or navdata update) I cant put in VOR stations which is a big problem because quite often airways go from/to VOR stations.

Also since last update I see a lot of double waypoints of the same name - when I look for gps waypoint “XXXXX” the Asobo FMC finds this waypoint always twice = meaning if we have for example waypoint IHNET once in the world of MSFS it will show twice (same gps coordinates) if we would have this point two times in the world FMC will show 4 of these waypoints 2x same GPS each.
First screenshot shows double waypoints of the same name/gps coordinates
Second and third screenshots are showing it is not possible to add VOR manually. FMC does not know them, but they are in game - for example littlenavmap shows them correctly (last two screenshots). My layman theory is that it messed up when the Asobo78X was updated for the MSFS2024 marketplace.

Are you using the Navigraph AIRAC? I had similar problems with multiple aircraft and it was solved by uninstalling the latest Navigraph AIRAC and letting the sim use the Asobo one.

I don’t know if there’s a problem with Navigraph or it’s a conflict between the two AIRACs, but for whatever reason this cycle it has been an issue.

Hello. No. Never used navigraph. I only use simbrief for planning and default msfs navdata + of course as far as I know pmdg uses own navdata, but I dont have any issues with their navdata.

Discovered new issue also related to the FMC and navdata/vnav/lnav logic

When you select waypoint direct to - in this case SIMBU it jumps over this waypoint to next waypoint in this case MODOG. Instead of selecting the SIMBU as next waypoint I was cleared DIRECT TO it selects the next waypoint in this case MODOG. Tested with many waypoints - all the same.

This is a status from facebook group. Last update I mentioned changed/messed up things with the default FMC behavior. Although this is status from MSFS2024

"Changing the ILS frequency on the Asobo Beluga and the A321LR

These 2 bad girls need a simple MCDU (FMS) action to change the ILS frequency, to catch the LS of your arrival airport, it’s easy, but there is a very important detail to do:

  1. go to « Rad Nav » in the MCDU

  2. enter the 3 letters code of the arrival on the ILS line

Or

  1. change the ILS frequency on the ILS line enter the new frequency with a / (slash) before the numbers.

Example: if you want to land at LEIB (ILS 111.10) and your the Rad Nav on the MCDU show ILS 130.70, your plane won’t catch the LS. You have to enter:

IBI

or

/111.10

on the MCDU."

Any idea why FMC wont allow me to add VOR? ANd for exampel VOR HON when I try to add it it says VEG HON could not be found? Why does it do this? WHy and where it got the VEG? I did not write VEG HON. I wrote only HON…

Also instead of TYI it adds VK7 TYI. Where did it got the VK7? Isnt it virtual key 7 in the FMC? Why it adds this shortcut into the flightplan? I dont understand.

LONG POST, but its worth it if you have/had issues with navdata. Here is my story.
In the last few weeks I have had problems with navigation data, waypoints and vor/dme including ils with Asobo aircraft but also with pmdg type aircraft. I thought my 787-9 update from horizon sim was to blame. I thought that the navdata had been upgraded recently and I also saw the Asobo 78X update so I thought that the update had messed something up or I needed to wait for the patch for horizon sim 787-9. I tried to test something every day and it didn’t work. What problems did I have? VOR stations could not be entered into the FMC. They could only be entered at the end of airways or at intersections of airways. I could not use direct to VOR from a waypoint or between VORs. Then I thought of trying the Asobo 747-8 and the same problem. I started to understand that it couldn’t be an airplane, but it had to be some addon (probably an airport, treefix, waterfix, scenery, etc.) after about 10 restarts and removing individual airports, I identified the problem - Sialkot airport from the creator Irtez. I would never have thought in my life that an airport would put the entire in-game world navaids out of service (literally erasef vor stations from the map) and break the ILS everywhere, and in some places even approaches, stars and sids. In some places I had double the number of waypoints and in some places none. I believe that some of you have been or will be in a similar situation and will not know what and how. I asked everywhere I could and I had to help myself (but only today I found an old forum post where the author talked about how he broke all the navdata in the game when creating his airport in ADE) - that led me to the idea that it must be an airport, not an airplane.
I’ve never experienced anything remotely close to this. It broke my experience in sim for few weeks. You cant even imagine the level of frustration I had when I could not load simbrief flightplans into FMC, add vor stations, had double, tripple or quadruple same waypoints, ils broken at every airport which uses default navdata (I dont have navigraph). If you are going to experience something like this now you know what is probably the issue and how to deal with it
