yeah that’s how it is unfortunately, it’s scenery culling, done that way to improve performance
in pc we have a setting: off screen pre chaching, or something, that controls how much of that you will see, with a heavy cpu use penalty
dont know if that option is available on ps
this is normal on console. I don’t have the ps5 version yet but from the video’s i’ve seen, it seems worse than on xbox series x.
if you don’t mind, can you try flying at night in a metropolian city like say Los Angeles , Chicago, New York. and while in the air, use the right stick to move the camera around. When you move the camera, do some of the lights in the city look black and then gradually turn on?
Woah I guess Xbox does this too? I’ve never seen this in any console clips I’ve seen before. I would not be able to deal with this. Terrain Precaching on Ultra is non-negotiable!
it’s not as bad on Xbox Series X. Not sure why it’s really bad on PS5. Maybe they’ll fix it.

yeah seems like the same thing like on xbox. the lights need to respawn everytime they’re in field of view.
I remember in MSFS2020 one of the SU fixed this and then they broke it again like two SU’s later.
In MSFS2024 seems like people on console are stuck with this happening.
PC users - is it the same for you guys or do the lights stay on all the time during a night flight?

The scenery popping issue didn’t just show up recently - I saw it in the PS5 early access version as well. There was a similar problem in MSFS 2020 and they fixed it, so they’ll sort it out for MSFS 2024 on PS5 too.
Well I was lucky enough to try MSFS 2024 on PS5 today but only for like 15 min.
The scenery popping on PS5 is so much worse than what I’ve experienced on Xbox Series X. I’m not sure Series S is even this bad.
They should fix this on PS5. PS5 hardware is capable enough to match Xbox Series X scenery pop which is barely visable unless you move the camera around a lot.
this is really bad. it’s worse than what I experienced in my short time w/ ps5. I know there are settings on PS5 where you can improve things. Have you looked at those? Or is this on default settings?
So I tried this in a very populated city like Osaka on Xbox Series X.
While not as bad as this PS5 video, it’s worse than what I remember with SU3.
I think this is happening because of SU4.

Can you do me a favor and try flying the a landing challenge?
From the main menu, go to Activities - scroll right to Landing Challenges - Strong Wind - then pick Sedona.
Fly and move the camera around. you should not get any scenary loading here. It should look perfect. I tested it on XBX and it was fine. Let me know if it’s the same on PS5 or if you still continue to get the scenery loading/popping.
Okay, I’ll test it by tomorrow.

I think the other scenery popping issues you posted before is because of SU4.
