Hi.
In some airplanes like the Cessna 172, you cannot raise the seat and pilot’s eye level. How can one overcome this limitation and increase the eye level?
Thank you very much for your help.
Hi.
Thank you for your comment. Using the spacebar to raise the eye level works a bit, but it doesn’t stay in the new position, and the view returns to the previous position. Is there a way to lock the new position?
It may be the same thing @Hester40MT just said, but I’ve got the up arrow key set for “increase cockpit view height”.
Works for me.

I’ll have to try that and see if I get better results. I saved mine as “reset cockpit view”, but I’ve found the issue I have with my way is that it doesn’t keep the same height between planes, e.g. I set it up originally for the 930, but if I jump in the 208, the view is too low and I have to use up arrow to move it up every time I come back to it after using another view.
Thanks!
Regards
Hi.
When I press the “up arrow key,” the view moves down slightly and stays that way.
I probably changed the keyboard setting for up and down since it seemed more “normal” for me.

Hi.
I have tried the spacebar and held it for custom view settings, but it only slightly increased the eye level.
The 172 has poor clipping rules, you can probably edit the cfg to remove this so you can put the camera anywhere you want.
At the moment your camera is kinda getting stuck on the ceiling even though it feels too low for you.
You can somewhat circumvent this in the 172 my moving forward as much as you can, then up, and then back, then save the camera.
What happens if you press F9 or F11? I haven’t tried it in the 172.
Thx for your comment.
How can I change the cfg?
I am not sure, there will be something in each aircraft cfg with camera clipping or collisions.
I am away from my PC atm so I can’t look it up. A google search may help you. There are definitely some 3rd party aircraft where you can take the cockpit camera anywhere, including outside of the aircraft. I think the Carenado 182 does this. So there will be something in a cfg, I would guess the camera cfg that is different between the two, but away from my PC I can’t help I am afraid.
Hopefully someone else might know.
