I have been having episodic problems starting the right hand engine in the PMDG 737-800. The other engine starts routinely. Has anyone else experienced this issue or does anyone have a fix?
What’s your packs + bleed air configuration? You’ll want to make sure APU bleed is on, isolation valve is open, and the packs are off. Usually failure to spin up engine 2 is a bleed air supply issue from isolation valve being closed.

Normally, the right engine is started first. Is this how you go about it?
I do start the right engine first and have followed the procedure suggested, save possibly for the isolation valve. Will give it another go with valve open.

Here is a segment of my departure procedure in which the isolation valve is already in the correct position…
- APU Gen ON, APU Bleed ON
- Electric Hydraulic Pumps ON
- Cntl 1: GND PWR, JETWAY REL
- PUSHBACK, CHOCKS, TUG
- STYLE, DIRECTION, DEG
- START, LEGS, PROG
- MFD: ENG
- Release [Park brake]
- Cntl 0: GRD, fuel at 25% N2
- Air Gens ON, APU OFF
- APU Bleed OFF, PACS Auto
- APU Isolation valve AUTO
Note that starting the right engine first is implied, as repeating start for the left engine.
Cheers!
Changing the isolation valve to on solved the problem. Thanks all.
